Hi everyone! I'm really glad I found this thread. I am having my surgery with Dr. B in 13 days. I've been really nervous! Its good to hear all the good things people have to say about him.

Dr B did my surgery on July 10th and I honestly could not have been happier with him. He was very personable and the staff in his office (especially Valerie & Stephanie) are wonderful. Very easy to talk to and informed. My best friend went with me and he was very good at explaining to her about my aftercare since she would be the one with me. She too really liked him and the way that he dealt with both me and her. I went to him based on several recommendations of people who had used him and and glad I did choose him. It's my understanding that there are only 4 other docs in the U.S. that have been trained to do the proceedure longer than he has. That says alot to me becuase I wanted someone who had LOTS of experience in dealing with this. It's only been 4 days for me but I know that this was the right time and place for me.

I just had surgery with Dr. B on Wednesday! I think he's great. I initially went for the band on June 18, but Dr. B. found a tumor on my liver, and stopped immediately. He told me that he still could have done the operation, but that the tumor, was BY FAR, much more important. I guarantee you that a lot of docs would have still done the operation. Once he got word that the tumor was benign (from my other doc) he did the surgery. I never felt like my care was compromised. I would recommend him to anyone!

That is awesome that he found the tumor. Not awesome that you have one but what are the chances that he was looking. I am sure that was divine intervention that brought him to you. I am glad it wasnt anything to serious.

Still 2 months away from my surgury...

You're right, I'm so thankful he found the tumor. Good luck on your next 2 months. I noticed we're both McKinney residents.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
