Dr. Aaron Hoffman - Lap Band done in Buffalo, NY (Dr. Hoffman)

Had my LAP BAND done on 11-26-2007 in Buffalo, NY at Buffalo General Hospital by Dr. Aaron Hoffman. I've have had no problems what-so-ever and the support from Dr. Hoffman has been FANTASTIC. He is the BEST doctor ever! I would recommend anybody from the Buffalo, Rochester, NY area to have Dr. Hoffman perform the BAND! GREAT DOC!

renee, i am soooo sorry that you had to go thru this, I am so glad I had Hoffman now. Cannot imagine what you are feeling. Please stay posted with us even if you switch to Caruana, let us know how you feel about there practice. good luck to you, you will do great I am sure..

when i said follow up care, i meant postop. can you believe that bgh called me 6 times to confirm my appt tomorrow. i finally asked them today why so many phone calls and they laughed...wtf

Val, you are soooo funny...let us know how u make out tomorrow.

Morning all

Renee - I'm so sorry to hear what happened. I am shocked

Vicki - I'll post later, I didn't lose 10 this week from jumpstart... it was from my fill. I had a couple drinks last night so i didn't get on the scale this am. lol

I'll be back to really check in over the weekend. Running late and have my family party tonight

Vicki- yup I was weighed not by Hoffman himself but by a nurse on the surgery floor before the operation. I was no big deal and nothing was said. I cant believe they would cancel a surgery. So surprising. Of course you may gain weight the night or two before b/c you eat thinking its going to be your last meal.

Renee- My aunts dr was Dr Viglianco at synergy. Im not to sure its the right move though. As I said they are very aggressive with the fills and my aunt can only eat soft foods without barfing or gaging. I think she is too tight and needs an unfill but shes being stubborn. Good luck with either decision you make.

i do know people who went to caruana and they liked them. i think its a personal issue. when i started the process they didnt do banding

vicki,

well i saw kim today. she is such a jerk. talk about rude. anyway she is arguing with me about how much he took out. i told her i asked him and he told me 3cc. she said no he didnt...wtf. i said anyway i dont need 3 cc added and she says we never add that much..now she has me pissed so i tell her im fully aware of that and by the way i only need 1 reminder phone call of my appt not 6

Val, I soooo agree with you on the Jerk part cause i also seen her before hoffman the other day and she has the personality of a door...I never cared for her to begin with, she pi**ed me off from the get go, and then she went to work with Posner, and now she is back with Hoff too. She is the one who said she lost the weight the hard way, anyway, she argued with me the other day too, when I told her I thought I may need a fill and she said "Well, that is up to the doctor" and I was like WTF!!! your an a** hole, in my head of course, I wonder why Barb is not seeing us anymore? So I says to her "so I see you kept your weight off" and she say "Yep", and that was it and I thought ##%&**$

P.S. did you get your fill?

Edited by vicki's band

i think i saw her because i changed my appt. hoffman wasnt even there. they tried to schedule me again ith her but i said i wanted to see hoffman next time

Viglianco is moving...

My surgeon would be Dr. Pham.

Renee...Sorry you could'nt get Dr H.. it really is too bad but stick with it and hang in there.

i did get a fill...even though i told her i didnt need much...when she checked i hardly had anything in it...so she gave me 2cc

Hey all... was not able to get on the Lap-talk forum for awhile but was able to read some your posts.. Rain, congrads.. you must be so happy.. I wish you alot of luck. What happens now, do they have to take the fluid out of the band until you deliver ?

Rene, so sorry to hear of your problems.. Hope Caruanna's office does right by you.. The only bad thing that I heard is that their follow-up is not that great, but that was regarding a by-pass patient..But I would think that that was more crucial with their absorption issues than there is with lap-band patients.. But, the best of luck to you.

Val, I was there friday also at 8:30 am.. you must have been in later. I had Lori.. She is always very nice. I have really never had a problem with her. Kim, on the other hand, was always kind-of short. She was never rude but she would ask me questions that I would have to think about to really give an honest answer and she would look at me like I am not anwering fast enough.. I like Lori the best.

I have been having acid reflux problems at night and have been going thru a bottle of tums like crazy, but mostly only at night. Lori said that its a sign of my band being too tight... sooooo....she took out .5 cc of fluid.. so far, the problem is better, but not yet gone all together. Has anyone of you had this problem ?
