  1. I also had the same fear and unfortunetly its coming true for me I have 7 weeks left and I have gained @ 50+ lbs. I just hope that its easier to get off this time. I also eat what ever I want and have little to no restriction. Good luck!
  2. Hi Dawn, Im pretty sure that everyone posts under Dr Hoffman even if banded by Posner. Its seems like everyone that was banded at Buff General uses that forum. I think it just makes it easier to keep track of all of us. Feel free to join us on the Hoffman side!
  3. Thanks ladies for your replies. It just gets discouraging seeing the weight creep back up. Im now really focusing again and tracking on Fitday.com so I can see where Im going crazy. Of course I upped my calories for the baby. I just want to hold steady for the next few weeks so Im not huge by the time delivery gets here. I must add that with my daughter 5.5 years ago I had lost over 100 lbs with Weight Watchers and gained it all back during my pregnancy and do NOT want to repeat this. I thought oh I can eat whatever I want its so easy to lose. Not. I never lost it and then got the band 5 years later. But as most of us know food is an addiction and it overides the brain that knows Dont eat that or youll regret it later.
  4. My guess is that I will get high blood pressure again while pregnant and be put on Meds again.
  5. I also had the same problem with my first pregnancy but I gained a lot of weight and with every lb gained my blood pressure went up. At around 6 months I was put on meds and I have been on high blood pressure meds since she was born 5.5 years ago. After I lost weight with the lap band my dose was decreased by 1/2. Once I got pregnant my OBGYN took me off of them completely b/c they werent safe drugs. So far my blood pressure has been ok but I think it will go up again with pregnancy weight gain. I have a drs appt today so I will know if it is high or ok.
  6. I feel like Im gaining weight like its going out of style. Im 16 weeks and have gained a lb for every week Ive been pregnant. I still fit into me prepragnancy size clothes but the pants are getting snug. I so did not want to gain a ton of weight with this pregnancy but I cant stop eating. I had 2cc taken out of my band and now I have absolutely no restriction and Im hungry all of the time. Anyone else in the same boat? Everyone I talk to is losing weight or staying the same blahhh!!
  7. Sorry,I dont have an answer for you. I was on birth control during the surgery. I stopped six months ago and got pregnant in October. Good luck and keep us posted!!!
  8. China, He didnt really say anything. It was my first appointment so I have to go get Nuchal transluceny test and come back in 4 weeks. The due date is 7/19/10 My 35th birthday.
  9. Dewl, Im with you I have my first appointment tomorrow and have not seen any changes good or bad to my band. Im hoping to keep the fill in the whole time. My next band doctor appt isnt until 12/30 so I hope I can maintain my weight and not gain to much before that date. When is your due date?
  10. Thanks China, You always seems to be on the preggo board are you tryin to tell us something?????
  11. I guess I will join the group. Im just found out Im pregnant on Friday the 13th. We have been trying for @ 6months so Im pretty excited. I was banded in June 2008 and am down @ 80 lbs. I dont want to gain to much weight and hope that I can keep my fill in for the duration. Im also on progesterone suppositries due to a previous miscarriage before the band. My est due date is July 19th, my 35th birthday. Although Im sure it will be moved because I didnt ovulate until much later in my cycle. Good luck to everyone!
  12. Shauna, Im not pregnant yet but I totally have the same issues as you. I have lost almost 80lbs and would like to lose 40 more. I have been trying to get pregnant for the past few months but am scared to death of gaining too much weight. Before the band I had lost 100lbs on weight watchers and gained it all back when I got pregnant with my daugther. I hope I learned my lesson and will not let myself get out of control with eating this time around. Good luck with your pregnancy and try your best to eat healthy. Rain
  13. Congratulations! After trying for so long this is great news. I can understand why you are having mixed emotions. But the good news is that pregnancy is only 9 months long and then you can get back to all you wanted to do before! good luck and have a happy and healthy nine months.
  14. In my opinion, I would get the fill and try to lose the weight while trying to get pregnant. You are at a pretty healthy weight and you never know how many months it will take for you to become pregnant. This way you can continue to lose and if you get pregnant and are too tight you can have some fill removed. This is my plan by the way but do whatever works best for you. Good luck.
  15. I completly agree with Indigogirl. I think I have reached my sweet spot at 5.5cc in a 10cc band. Ive been too tight before at 6cc and had 1 taken out. I had .5 put back in and now I can eat cereal for breakfast, 6 oz of protein for lunch and a small dinner. I can eat regular stuff but not too much and not get stuck like before. I also totally agree about being band full but not head full. That is what we are learning with the band. To stop when you are full.
  16. I use mydailyplate.com I think its great and it has sooo many foods listed its incredible what they have.
  17. Well girls thats freaky same band date and both pregnant with twins!!! Weird.
  18. Rcruz is correct the nurse at my hospital just said that can happen if you guzzle down too much water
  19. Jill, That sounds exactly like me. I had a fill on May 13th and it was pretty tight after about a week I thought it was getting better but if I didnt take the smallest bites and chew I got stuck. After 3 weeks like that I couldnt stand it anymore and I got 1cc taken out. Im now a 5cc and still have decent restriction. I didnt want to jepordize my band by pb all the time and risk slippage so I called the dr. It seemed to me that it wasnt worth it to get stuck at every meal even though I was losing decent weight. Good luck to you and I hope you figure it out.
  20. I also need the lidocaine because my port is very hard to get into. After the seventh poke or so even the lidocaine doesnt cut the pain. I have had three fills and all have been pretty rough.
  21. Hi, I have independent healt in Buffalo and have been banded since June. I didnt have to do any 6 month diet or anything I just had to follow the plan by the hospital. I had mine done by Dr Hoffman at Buffalo general. It was pretty easy and simple they didnt make me do anything out of the ordinary. If you have anymore questions just ask Rain
  22. Im 10 months out and I think that I am having the same type of pain. Its near the port but a little further to the left. It gets worse if I eat too much. My GP thinks its something to do with the port and not my spleen or anything internal. Like you said its not consistent.
  23. Lets see, since my third fill... rice bread french fries lettuce pretzel bites..oh the pain spaghetti Im crying just writing this list. All my favorites oh well its worth it!
  24. I also started today. I will keep you guys posted on how I do. Rain
  25. IMB316, I kinda get it. While I still have over 60lbs to go I think I understand. You spend so much time thinking about the surgery and planning for it and then its over. Then you have to concentrate on losing the weight and on what you are eating that you keep your mind/self busy. You spend so much time dreaming and imagining what you can wear and what you will look like that it keeps you occupied. Now you have nothing to fixate your mind on so your bored. I have never reached my goal weight before so I'm not sure what will happen when I do but I cant wait to find out. I guess that you just need to find something new to concentrate on. Its just like planning for a wedding and then its over. good luck Rain
