Dr. Aaron Hoffman - Lap Band done in Buffalo, NY (Dr. Hoffman)

Recommended Posts

:( Hey kids!!!

I had my 3 hour blitz today and it was a little nervewracking at first because my thyroid is so off and stuff so when she said we had to get it under control I got really nervous and she asked me some question about my doctor and it set me off and I cried a little (because my doctor's an ass), so my sister had to explain how sensitive I can be, etc. Plus my blood pressure was through the roof because of the nerves, but everything worked out in the end. I loved all three women who work with the patients in the clinic.

I have to go back next month with the nutritionist, then back again with the NP in July because I need to lose about 50# (I'm bigger than most lap band peeps) in order for surgery to happen. I've got to have a venous doppler for blood clot detection, one more giant blood work workup, my medical clearance, and I'm good! I also made my Dr. Hoffman appointment for August because I'll be gone so much in July. So I'm looking for a mid-September surgery date, I hope!

I spent about $150 on new food so I can start South Beach tomorrow and I'm totally psyched!

Thanks for all of the support, everyone! The process is taking longer than I had hoped but that's okay. I'm patient and I understand why. :scared2:

It is a long process and it can get discouraging. Hang in there. You are finally on your way.

Hi Loraine, Glad your back!

Nicki is looking for a support group tonight, does anyone know if there is one?

My 3 hour blitz is less than 2 weeks away. Colonoscopy today and shrink next Friday. I still think the surgery will be a few months away, the process is a little slow.

What was the delay between 3 hours and your meeting with Hoffman any idea?

Why did you have to wait a month between meeting with Hoffman and surgery?

Thanks.

Judy, Unfortunatley a month to see Dr. Hoffman is typical. They like to give you enough time to complete all of the tests and it seems to be the first avaliable time that he is free. The month between the visit and the surgery is also standard so that they can submit your info to the insurance company. Good luck to you if you can get in any quicker. I actually was happy that it was going so quick. Its such a long process.

Did you have to go on South Beach and lose 5% of your body weight? I already have insurance approval so hopefully that month can be eliminated.

Yes I went on South Beach. That is another reason for the month between appts to see if you can lose the weight. I am 2 lbs short of my 5%. So they said I may have to go in and just get reweighed a lillte later. Dr. Hoffman was happy with my weight loss but I think that the 5% in needed for most insurance companies.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
