Runningagain! Good luck to you too... it's so exciting, isn't it. Glad to have someone like Tater to help us go through this process. Have they given you an idea of when your surgery might be?

Keep us posted on your progress and I am sure going to keep you both posted! :D

I am currently drinking 3 powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury shakes a day. I have a double scoop (choc and vanilla yum!) one in the morning for 40g Protein. I make them with skim milk and some ice. Right now I am getting 100g Protein per day.

In addition to that I have Soup for lunch and dinner. Harris Teeter has the BEST organic boxed Soups (creamy Tomato, potato leek, butternut squash, french onion). Delicious.

In addition to that I am drinking SO much Water, crystal light, propel and G2. I am easily exceeding the minimum that was set for me.

I'm doing fine with the diet, but I am SO ready for mushies!!!!

Hi All,

I recently found out that I don't in fact have insurance coverage for WLS that they told me I did. For about a day, I abandoned my hopes to get banded, especially after the not-very-helpful staff at the Potomac Hospital group made me feel like a pariah. :(

But then someone who works with my DH told me about Dr. Eric Pinnar. So now that I've come to accept that I will be self-paying, I've gone to his seminar and hope to get in for my initial visit later this week. I love the staff there, and of course, the doctor. I think I can qualify for the surgical center option to save a few bucks. I'm so excited to find this option and can't wait to join you on the 'band-wagon', if you'll pardon the pun....

Hi, Chica. Just saw your post. I'm also being banded by Dr. Eric Pinnar. He and his staff are amazing. As you can also see, Tater was banded by Dr. Pinnar Sr and he's also wonderful... it runs in the family! You will be very happy with Dr. Pinnar and I wish you great success. Keep us posted.

Bye for now.

Sheri

Hi there! I too was banded by Dr Pinnar (Jr.) on the 13th. I have had more pain then I anticipated, and, I am starving! He said patients aren't hungry until 4-6 weeks, but not me! I drink my shakes and Soup but still find myself craving real food. I guess until we get a fill the band is just sort of sitting there and not really able to do much. I have lost 16 pounds since I started the pre-op diet, so thats the best part of this all! Are you planning on attending the support group meetings at the synchrony office? Would love to keep in touch and share experiences. Thanks!

Lomy

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
