Hi guys

another question - what and how much should i be eating at the moment please? I can't think straight.

Oh, and i have looked at the dates in October and November when Chris and co are in the uk and i cant make any of them. What do the rest of you do in the circumstances please?

hi lemma, hope your starting to feel better. I think the first 10 days you should be on liquids only. so i had slim fast shakes and lots of Soup without lumps in it. do you think you could get someone to go to the shops for you and get a load in. Thats what i did. oh yes a yogurt drinks bridget said they were good too, you know the ones with the good bacteria in them.

I think things like slimfast and is it herballife are good, because they have Vitamins in them...thats what i was working on taking loads of vitamins.

i think the aftercare dates are on a thursday but i think you only have to go about 4 times the first year so i am just taking the day off work for them.

Hello my consultation was the night before surgery as well. I think the band fills are always on a thursday. I guess you could see a different surgeon and get them down else where. But I dont think I would do that because fred and chris are really nice.maybe ask if you could go to another place like mancester and do them there instead ?

Hi there Cakey

- I'm not sure if I understand what you're saying as you said if he's ....if he's performing a LAP-BAND® operation and finds an ulcer or a haitus hernis "apparently we can have them because of our weight"... but then you didn't finish the sentence? Because of our weight we prob have higher blood pressure, higher risk of strokes, knackered muscle joints, high risk of cancer etc etc etc etc.. esp if we carry alot of weight for a lot of time.

All I can say is I checked CdeB out in July this year and he'd had no fatalities to that and only a couple of complications to do with gastric bypass - which when you consider the sheer number of bariatric ops he must perform on a weekly/ monthly/ yearly basis is pretty damned good I'd say!

If you review the posts on this thread; there have been a couple of peeps who've gone across and procedures have not been smooth sailing with feeling v unwell after - but again every 'body' is different..and no one knows what's inside til they are worked on..? But let's remember that gastric banding is the least risky of the bariatric weightloss surgeries out there.

Hope I've helped - good luck on your journey x

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
