Well, my OH doesn't know my exact weight... but i sort of let it slip the other day, when i jumped up and down and shouted "ooooh! only 20lb more, until i weigh the same as you! yay!" LOL

So i think he kinda figured it out! Whoops! lol

Mine definitely knows....was always able to guess fairly close but I wouldn't confirm or deny anything. Then right after surgery it just seemed unfair, he went through all this with me, took care of the kids during and right after surgery and supports me in every way. Finally one day I told him, it's been so nice since then, he follows my weight loss and encourages all the time.

Not only does he know my weight--He(and I still can't believe I did this) did all my pre-op measurements! Actually the weight # slipped about a year ago--we went through airport security and my bag got searched--and the tsa agent was a real be-otch and I was po'd and made a statement that yea right-this 200 lb grandmother really looks like a terrorist. He just looked at me and commented that that was the first time I had admitted it. then i did the ns program and gained more!--and part of it was that i didn't want any "try this" when I decided to do the surgery

Yep, he knows. I was 18 when we met and weighed about 120/125, got married when I was 19 and he's watched my weight go up and sometimes down for the last 20 years. He's very supportive of me. He's the best. Thank God!

Almost sounds like Egor and me, except we met at 16 and have been married 32 years! For a long time, he weighed 100lb. more than I did, but I started gaining faster after my hysterectomy. He's about 75lb more today, but he's waiting for surgery a month later than mine.

He knows every time I lose an ounce because I proudly announce it (ok, sometimes I yell) before I even get off the scale! I always tell him, but I guess that does not really mean that he KNOWS.

Ok, I just asked him, it seems he does pay attention, and he's kind. He came in two pounds light! Thanks Honey.

Ok, now this survey got me worked up so I have to comment! Of course my husband knows my weight! We try to have a very authentic relationship in every area. It's not like he couldn't tell I was fat until he knew my weight! What's nice about him knowing is that he can participate in my weight related wins. ("Yay, honey, I'm almost under 250") or ("Babe, if I get to 240, that'll be what I weighed right before I was pregnant with [our second kid]")

I think the more open we are - the healthier our relationship is and the better he can support me. Plus he loves lurking on this site to see the before and after pics and learn more about the band - he would totally see the ticker anyway! It allows him to come to Dr. appointments without me being nervous that it would slip!

So I say - Tell them, tell them! It is so freeing to have it out!

No way!! When my husband and I married he weighed 170 and I weighed 230. Now his weight is 185 and mine is 250. My goal is to weight the same as he. My husband is 6'2'' and I am 5'6'', just does not seem fair. Let me drop some of this weight and I might tell him.

I'm really surprised by the answers here--I had no idea so many people didn't tell their husbands! I assumed that everyone was open about it, since the DH is usually the biggest support you have when you go through this (and sharing in the losses).

My fiance always knew I weighed more than him (it's hard to hide when you meet someone at 300+ lbs) but I've only told him my weight a few times. I was completely open with him about it when I was losing weight about 5 years ago, but I didn't tell him how much weight I put back on afterwards. About 6 months ago, he asked how much I weighed, because he had no idea, and he promised he'd block it out afterwards. It was pretty funny, because a few days ago I showed him my blog that I just started, and he honestly had no idea that's how much I weighed (407 last time I was weighed 1.5 years ago). I think he was so surprised because one of our friends is bigger than I am and he always says he only weighs 300, so my fiance always assumed I was less than that, even after I told him time and again that our friend CAN'T weigh 300.

Now that he knows (and remembers) how much I weigh, I plan to keep him in the loop as I go through this, because he's completely supportive and I know he would never use my weight as ammunition against me. That's why I'm marrying him

Isn't that funny Angelyco---how people who don't have a weight issue have no guage of what others weigh.

My Aunt who has always been bigger than me---even at my high weight of 289---mentions frequently that she HAS to lose weight she weighed in last time at a horrifying 225 pounds! And says it like she is so ashamed of that. In actuality she is likely dropping it by about an even 100 pounds---maybe not quite, she is very out of shape, so there is little muscle---but 75-100 pounds less anyway!

So when I mentioned that I was down to 220 pounds several months ago, in front of her and my Uncle, he looked at me, and said

"You mean that's where you started?" I told him no that was almost 70 pounds lost, he just looked so lost!!! No clue!

Ironically---my Aunt is one of the only people who has NEVER mentioned a word about my weight loss---other than to say she could never live with as restrictive of a diet as I eat. I eat everything---just in a lot more moderation! And I no longer have dessert after every meal, including breakfast!!!

Hang on to your Honey and give him a HUG----good men are hard to find. Sure glad I have mine!!!

Congrats on the upcoming wedding!

Kat

My weight is one thing I would never tell anyone ever!!! Even when I was thin, I thought I was fat, so I would never tell. I have always been ashamed of my weight and thought I was overweight whatever weight I was.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
