Went for sleep study. I was embarassed that my weight was at all-time high, so PA suggested Lap Band. By the time I got an appointmentto be evaluated at the Surgery Center on 11/17/2007, I had lost enough weight on my own to no longer be "morbidly" obese, so my insurance wouldn't pay. My G.P. compiled a folder of medical history to show that my weight, blood pressure, risk of diabetes, and some other things could ALL be improved. After that, the insurance required that I go to a different hospital and have a specified surgeon. I did.I met the surgeon for the first time just before surgery, and at the hospital on4/9/08. I saw him one week later, but that wwas all. I started losing weight, sixty pounds in the first year. gained 20 back. 3 dilations and unfills.starting over now
