Shrinkin' Violets- Part 2 Read Here

Recommended Posts

Hey Pam! Sorry to hear you're having a tough day. Idea: how about getting some "legal" items that taste like you're cheating & eat those? Like 100 cal cookie packs (the Lorna Doones are great!) or 100 cal cupcakes or skinny cow frozen fudge bars... you get the idea! So even if you eat "several", you're still doing better than if you ate the "real" thing!

OK, my 2 cents on this one (coming from an ice cream eating professional). Those diet fudgesicles taste like brown frozen Water, frozen cardboard, take your pick. For the miniscule amount of calorie difference you can have the real thing. Most are about 100 calories for the REAL thing. Don't trim around where you don't really need to...especially when the diet ones taste like crap. IMHO

Hi Haydee

Kat-glad you all made it there safe & sound! I will keep you & your family in my prayers.

Pamela-I could see where you might want to start smoking again to assist in weight loss BUT it would so not be worth it. I have the task of trying to quit & not gain. Neverending battle, so do not do it. :)

If you do, I will come to cali and kick your as@ until it really IS violet!! :girl_hug:

Laura-you are doing great by eating a little junk then getting rid of the rest of it:clap2::clap2:

Michelle-I can tell you are really excited about the WDW trip. Oh, I wanna go. I have never been there. I am jealous...

Have a great rest of the day violets!!!

"...and then since I was crying I ate a piece of garlic bread..." -- Tracy, this is the craziest phrase I've read in a long time (well, at least since the "swing" discussions!)! Sorry you're having a bad eve...

Kat... glad to read that the trip is going well so far... prayers for your dad!

Just got back from dd's band concert... too cute... I love elementary school programs!

Time to get into my jammies & veg... g'nite!

Pam-- Stay away from the cigs. I know how it is. I quit smoking in 1987 and there are still days that I would kill for one. Not so much lately but over the years I have gotten urges. With 2 smokers in the house it's a wonder I don't start right back up. But I guess the second hand smoke is sufficeing me.

TracyKS-- Sorry to hear you are having a crappy day. Try not to let food be your comfort. Maybe a diet soda or sugar free ice cream. A good nights sleep might help also.

Got the rest of my housework done and got caught up on some shows I had recorded. Still raining here and we even had some snow flurries. At least tomorrow I get to get out to go to work. Get some exercise in.

Didn't do too good on my Water. I got enough but should have done better. Hope everyone did good on their intake.

Has anyone watched that show "How to look good naked"? I'm sick of the commercials. If you've seen it is it any good?

Everyone have a great evening.

Eating garlic bread simply because you're crying.. makes perfect sense to me. No, seriously.

Damn emotional eating. I was going to see that shrink to figure out how to do something more productive about emotional binges.. but they cancelled and it was 2 months to get in as it is, so I said screw it. Luckily, the band has been tight enough it keeps me from being able to obtain what I try to do.

Thanks for the explanation on. I am SO sore from my workout. I am still glad I went to work out but it has been a crazy day. I have a home daycare (12 kids) and my mom works with me. My oldest child had a orthodontist apt and when I get to him from school to find out our county is having a tornado warnings. I get him and leave to head back home and I have never prayed so hard in my life. I could not see the road because of the rain and all the roads were flooding. Scary! I made it home to help my sub and my mom with all the kids and about 15 minutes later the skies were clear. I finally got ds to his apt. I am so tired. I am headed off for a long bath and to go the bed. Atleast I didn't have to sit in the classroom on the floor or under a desk.....LMAO talk about trauma for my child.

I look forwarding to getting to know all of you. I also love the chat about the swing.

Shannon

YOO HOO & YIPPEE for Michelle and Haydee--You've both hit new low numbers!!! If Pam were feeling better, you just know she'd break out the banana boobies.

Terry, the Sex Swing is DEFINITELY NOT, NOT, NOT my DH's anniversary present. Just as your husband, he would probably go cardiac on me, plus I can't see me with the swing since my back is housing two herniated discs. DH will just have to be happy with the trip next weekend to Canada for my snow fix. Y'all know the Maxine cartoons??? Can't you just laugh thinking about what she'd say while strapped up in a Sex Swing?!?

Suzie, I applaud your cleaning mode today (which I've warned DH I'll NEVER get in), but why in the world would you clean the ice maker??? Isn't the Water already clean when it goes in there? :high5:

Also, there's actually a show on "How To Look Good Naked?" What a stupid premise! I have the answer!

Wait for it...

Just a little more...

Keep your eyes closed! :blah:

Might not have been worth the wait, huh?

And finally, Kat, many prayers are being said for your dad and for you and your mom.

love to all,

Cindy

Evening, Violets..

Back from my church meeting and watching my Pistons play. It's halftime so I have a few minutes.

Going to take pics tonight in my swim suit. It's been 2 months since I took any pictures. I didn't realize it had been that long!! Hopefully I'll see a difference.

TracyinKS...(((hugs)))to you. I know how difficult it can be. Been there, done that.. just like we all have.

We have a fire going in the fireplace in the living room. All nice and cozy.. and petite (the fireplace, not me)! It's really little, but sure is nice to look at. Someday I hope the same can be said about me!

Tomorrow is nail day and then working a the hospital a bit more, then to the book store to get a pressure cooker recipe book. Just got a Nesco pressure cooker and I fixed pot roast in there tonight. It was a Walmart piece of meat and it was so tender when it was done. And took 35 mintues to finish!! Of course I haven't had beef in a long time and PB'd 3 times during dinner. And I was eating little pea sized bites... just wasn't going down.

Halftime is over.. gotta go support my boys.

Will check back later..

The show I am talking about has that Carson form "Queer Eye". It shows a bunch of girls running around in bras and panties. He keeps telling them that they are going to have their picture taken nude. Yikes.

Everyone tells us that they like our ceiling fan in our bedroom and I tell them that it's not really one. It's disguised. It's actually a trapeze. You should hear some of the comments. What a hoot.

As far as the ice maker. I really don't have to clean clean it. It's that about every 3 months or so the tube going into the ice maker gets backed up and it freezes. So I have to take a few things out and make sure the tube is clear. It's no big deal but this is the first fridge I've ever had that does this. Got the oven clean and that was a biggy for me. Now going to try not to use it for awhile.

Well...I followed Michelles advice. I went to the store and bought 3 boxes of 100 cal. chex mix (choc, cheddar and strawberry yougart). I had 1 hour between teaching intervention a 4pm meeting and I ran to the store, bought the goodies, ran home changed into workout clothes...crammed in 1/2 cup cottage cheese and 1 banana...ran back to work for the 4pm meeting then went to workout at 5pm. The workout was long and hard, and made me feel great! Came home and had a 280 cal. Lean Cuisine and a 100 cal. snack pack! All told 1270 cal for today! 3.5 bottles of Water (I am out of the 16.9 so I am going to buy the 20 oz next...the math is too hard, lol).

Thanks for all your help and support today...Just a really rough day! Yes, at that moment I really wanted a ciggy...but that passed! Anyway...thanks again everyone.

Kat~ purple power for you tomorrow and for mom and dad.

Michelle and Haydee~ sorry these are late coming!:Banane20::):Banane20::D:Banane20::Banane20: Good for you both!

Tracy~ don't cry honey! But yes, I totally get tears and garlic bread! Hope everything is ok...or gonna be ok!

I'm heading to bed. Everyone sleep well. Stay warm. Drink your water. Give yourselves a hug just for being you.

Michelle, that is great losing that weight and in December to boot!!! I seem to have been at a stall. Losing very very slowly, but at least I am not gaining.

Tracyks hope tomorrow is a better day!!!

Well off to get some things done, I wish I was more like Suzie right now, I just got home from a long day at work and parents, both before and after work, and still need to do laundry!! While my sheets are finishing up I should clean!!!!!! But will I????

Probably not!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
