I am glad this holiday and all it's food are over with. I hope nobody feels the need to bring me any Christmas goodies.

I don't want to start the new year with a weight gain but it's going to take a lot of willpower to say no to all the stuff people keep trying to get me to eat.

I am with you Denise--I had planned a smaller t-day lunch today.Smaller dishes and less of everything. By the time everyone got here, the dessert table grew into a smorgasbord of sugery delights. I did pretty good with the dinner itself, but the Desserts were my downfall. I do plan to get back in the saddle tomorrow and eat or drink what I should.

GoodLuck during the Holidays!

Joann---I wanted to let you know how sad I am about Abby. The pix is precious. Our Sally went to Heaven earlier this year. She was 17yrs. old. Her cancer was centralized in her hip. She underwent surgery and we hoped that she would be ok. The cancer came back with a vengence and she was suffering, so we had our sweet Vet put her to sleep. Our 21 year old son cried like a baby. He had grown up with Sally. We still miss her so. She was such a good dog. I sure hope she is waiting for me in Heaven.

I am so excited for you, as your surgery date is almost here. I have never regretted having mine. Be assured, that there will be alot of us thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way----

Hey everyone - Thanksgiving is over and I am so thankful. I was so nervous about this first big holiday being banded, but I was able to eat normally. It was great not feeling stuffed, not pb'ing and not beating myself up for overeating. And, several people complimented me on my progress. It felt so good.

How did everyone else do?

WE made it through Thanksgiving.

I managed well, since I did not cook, had no clean up and no leftovers.. I am doing well. I had a bit of everything. maybe a tablesonn of things and about 1 ounce of turkey. and was full

I treated myself to the movies last night, I saw "Australia". I thought it was a great movie..

Now on to December; I will be cooking some of the meal for xmas, but we are celebrating at my daughter's.

It seems my band is nont as restrictive or fickle, as a few weeks ago. It has been about 9 weeks since my last fill.. but who knows tomorrow it may be "fickle" once again

Holidays are a bit tough for me this year. Like so many of us I have had my losses. Mine is my sister: back in January. So to all of us with losses, stress and other issues to live with..I am grateful to everyone I have gotten to know here on the thread and am thankful for my health and family ..and that family includes all of you.

Me too! I went out to eat and then saw "Australia". I liked it, but boy it is long. Anyway, I did not lose, but didn't gain either. I have been going throught alot of stress.....my mother was in the hospital for seven days....got out on monday....they went back in wednesday with chest pain. We got her out yesterday. I pb'd yesterday on Yogurt with fruit. I think it was stress. I am fine today. I went shopping at 6am this morning. Carter's had 60% off everything in the store and I also had a 20% coupon. I have a 4month old grand daughter and expecting a grandson in April. I loaded up on clothes. I too, am grateful for all of my LBT peeps. I don't think I would have stayed on track without all of you. THANK YOU!

Hi All,

I'm a 64 year old grandmother from down under and was just trying to find the Aussie site and found you. I have had my band for nearly 5 weeks and we are getting on fine. I have not had a PB and I get my first fill in 2 days. I lost 5 kilo on shakes and 1 each week since but I do think it is slowing down. But I do not get hungry so here it is 11.35 am and I haven't had brekkie yet. It will suit me to have just 2 meals today which is OK by my surgeon. I am so pleased to be out of the morbidly obese band now, it it such a terrible term. I have found that spending time posting on threads at the computer is a great therapy too. We have some good Aussie ones and next month I will actually meet a group of girls who live within an hour of here, will be interesting because I find that I have a slim, young image of them in my head. Thanks for the more mature thread.

Regards

Brydie

Good Morning!

Internet access stinks right now. I'm waiting for Time Warner to come on Friday to install cable internet.

Thanks for all your birthday wishes earlier this week! I appreciate that! Had a great birthday and a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hope you all are having a great weekend!

I read on another forum that with the band you are hungry but can not do anything about it due to vomitting

I will be banded on the 9th of december after two other cancelations and I am worried

Twirl,

I was banded 10/6/08 I have never vomited nor do I often feel hungry.. this is the best thing I have ever done for myself! I started this journey in Feb with all the doctor's appointments weighing 260 and today the scale says 221. I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Don't second guess yourself JUST DO IT you will never look back

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
