Janet, how great. I am sure you will have plenty of info to share with us when you get back.

My DR office has 2 different sites for surgery and each hospital has their own "support" system, even though you can attend any classes, support group for meeting for wither site. But i went to a support group the other ight and even the basic water/protein reuirements were different..so even when the DR are the same the hopsital group had different requirements.!!!!!

How weird is that - My hospital just started a lapband only group but I gotta drive 20+ miles - it's from 6-8 so I don't get home until after 9 and I have gone to one - but truly like it here better - it's open 24/7 - I don't have to drive:tongue:

Janet you're funny and you know me so well. I was really tempted to go to Dairy Queen this evening but I had a sugar free fudgesicle instead.

It is a huge pain to fly now a days. They made me throw my yogurt away. It really made me mad. I am going to get a note from my doctor and then I can take food on the plane. I need to take Protein Drinks

and yogurt because my band always tightens from flying.

Hi, My name is Carol from Henderson, NV (outside of Las Vegas)

8 more days and I will be on my way and I can't wait. I'm having my surgery here in LV, not sure if anyone is from this area. :Angel_anim:My kids are both grown and have moved back to the east coast. So right now it's just myself and my husband, and I can't forget my two dogs Harley and BooBoo.:scared2:

Can anyone tell me how long it took to feel good enough to trave:plane:l, I have my mom's 80th the end of June and my sisters 3rd wedding in august.

Well I will keep you informed on my LB progress, I'm just getting excited and :unsure:nervous at the same time. Thanks for listening.

Denise - I am so happy that you fought that stupid Dairy Queen urge - I am PROUD of you:thumbup:... It's only 1 hr flight in a puddle jumper  - I have some powder protein packets I can add to my Water - This will be my 1st flying experience since being banded - so I will find out if mine gets tight - am a little concern cuz I go back to doc end of May for my ck up and to see if I need a fill - I sure and the H*ll don't want to be too tight - I use to be worried about being addicted to fills - but not worried any longer cuz that ONE WEEK of being so tight I could barely drink water - was enough for me - if I need a fill in May - it will be like the last one .02 just a tiny itty bitty bit...

Welcome Carol -:biggrin2:

I'm not too far from you (we are on the same side of the country )

Indio is by Palm Springs - and I'm going to LV in June..

I was banded on a Tuesday back to work the following Monday (desk job)

But I know that we have some new women who took a little longer to heal - it depends on you - it's really diff for everyone.. Just like the band and our doc's instructions. - I would think you would be fine to travel by Junes and August - My June trip to Vegas is my 1st real travel experience since being banded (flying) some ppl (denise) says that her band gets tight but others found no diff - so I will let you know my experience when I get back..

I have 2 fur babies too - Angel aka mama's girl (white toy poodel) Bear aka mama's boy (black pom) and a 17 Grandson (GS) who lives with me.

Well - I gotta get back to work - LBT has become my transfer addiction along with shopping:w00t:

Janet--I KNEW I liked you! I am a poodle mommy too! Two white toys (one is a rescue and may be a bichon, but I converted her to poodlehood!)

In my next life, I am coming back as a poodle and in the NEXT life, I am going to be a tall blonde with a fast metabolism.

That's great about your trip!

JB - I didn't want the dogs (my muffin died 16 yrs ago) - I moved into my 1st BRAND new house 4 yrs ago - GS just had to have a dog - you know how it goes -I'll take care of it - yadda yadda - well the 1st time the dog pee'd on my tile - i cried. Well GS did get him potty trained and then guess who's dog it became - then 2 yrs ago came home from vacation - and there we have Angel - well Angel never really took to GS - she too is now my dog - but with her she wakes me up 1 or maybe 2 times a nite to go potty (they both sleep with me and neither dogs are jumpers) on the weekend - omg - I can never sleep in 5 a.m. lick on face - means potty time - the pom is bigger and he can hold his pee but my little angel can be a pain sometime -but I love her she's just the right size - like a kitty cat..

Hi all, I have not been on here in a while. I was having so much problem with fills. They cant seem to find one that works for me. A little bit was too much and none was not enough. I was soooooooo tired of the pain and throwing up, I went in and had all the fill taken out. They send me for an upper G. I. and it was normal. The surgeon called me and we figured that maybe leave it rest for a while. So I am having no fill for a couple of months. The band has not been what I thot it would be. I have lost 56 pounds since April of last year. Anyone else have this problem??^_^

Margi

Sorry about your problems (Hugs)

Nope I have been lucky - my 1st fill lasted 2 weeks then 2nd lasted til January - that fill was too much had to have .08 of the 1cc he put in taken out - I have just noticed today for lunch - I ate more than usual but I can tell you one thing - I will never be tight again - that is the worse.

Does your doc do blind fills or fluro??

You might try making a post in lap band complications. There are some people that have spams in their esophagus and can't handle very much fill at all. There is a medicine you can take to get rid of the spams. I know someone who can't tolerate any fill at all, and has to take medicine just to keep the band, so she doesn't spasm

Thanks for the prayers, all.

We survivved, thank the Lord! Surgery scheduled for 10:30 finally happened about 2:30. Then the recovery room was short handed, so I was there until about 6:30 before I could go home. Storms hit, and it rained all of the hour and a half trip home.

We crashed into bed almost immediately, and Egor slept like a rock. George the cat played nurse all night, escorting me to the bathroom 3 times, reminding me to drink Water, and patting me when I got back to bed. He's been on duty ever since I came home, even while my daughters or Egor are with me.

I've had some port incision pain, but my hemorrhoids are worse than that.

I've been for a couple of neighborhood strolls, and last night we went out for Chinese food. I had a cup of won ton Soup and gave Egor the won tons.

Also, I weigh 8 pounds less now than when I checked in at the hospital! Overall, Life is Great.

Each day gets better - I am glad you are walking - drinking and giving egor your won tons - good job

Also a dog lover.

Mini poodle, Presley, 10#, loveable and at times a pain, SPCA special

Cocker Spaniel, Cobi, 20#, loveable, sweet and friendly. At one time I had dogs!!!!!

both think potty time is about 5:30am, ugh. The cocker is/was my youngest daughters. Indigo, like your GS, I will I will take care of it...lol

They keep me company and were my caretakers during recovery....

I went back to work after 3 weeks. my doctor said minimum of 2 weeks and since my surgery was mid week I decided to make my first week back only 3 days, next week is my first full week back.

Still on mushies for another week to 10 days.... been rough keeping up on getting the Protein in, but getting it sone, most of the time.

possible fill on 5/9, but won't know until I get to my appt.

etting in exervise.. this weekend, gardening, house cleaning and laundry. Never thought i would be happy to do it all, but i feel so good I just want tokeep going at it.

LYNN

Lynn, I am really having trouble reading your posts. It's so tiny, and that color is hard to read.

Sounds like you are doing good. Hope your recovery keeps going along fine.

Egors girl, I'm glad everything went well, welcome to bandland!!

Lynn, I agree with Denise, your posts are awfully tiny and my old eyes aren't as good as they used to be, you might change your font to make it a bit larger for all of us with bad eyes, lol.

My scale finally moved downward for the first time in a week and half, I'm down another 1.2 lbs this morning, woohoo!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
