Hi OP, can you share some info and stats please so we can target our replies? Are you pre or post op? What's your surgery? Etc.

Sugar is the devil as far as I'm concerned these days. Yes there are (limited) times when I invite the devil in - Easter most recently - but as a general rule I try to avoid both sugar and sugar substitutes as much as I can. They are what made me obese in the first place.

Whole foods are your friends and always will be. Protein, veg, fruit. Carbs once you have space or are at your goal weight.

@Spinoza I am giggling that you invited the devil for Easter.

I agree that I avoid sugar substitutes, and the amount of real sugar I allow myself at this point is minimal. But I do have two treats I look forward to every day. I really love my cherry flavored calcium chews, and even better, I splurged on the ProCare chocolate Calcium and have one every evening after dinner. It's a piece of dark chocolate, but it's also my calcium supplement, and it's delicious.

one of my favorite Desserts is to get some vanilla Greek yogurt (Chobani makes a 60 calorie one - and Light and Fit aren't much more than that), stir in some unsweetened cocoa powder, and then add a dollop of sugar free Cool Whip and a few raspberries.

i agree with catwoman7. i get Chobani zero vanilla yogurt, chop up some strawberries, and add blueberries and that is like a delicious dessert. I occasionally will add some sugar free hersey chocolate chips with strawberries to my yogurt. Yum!

during weight loss phase and for a several months after reaching goal, i limited the amount of sugar that i ingested as i was a really, REALLY, REALLLLY bad dumper. what little sugar or Desserts i ate where almost always within my calorie gosls. as the years progressed, i found i was able to eat more sugar and have eaten it accordingly.

nowadays, i'm down with whatever sugar type food you put in front of me, but i generally only have a single bite to taste if it looks appealing (2 or 3 if its deemed delicious lol).

i don't know what stage of the whole process you are, but5 generally (i'm 5+ years out), my go to sweet stuff are things that are also savory...like glazed/candied meat or fish, yogurts/cottage cheese bowls. mind you i still love me a good cookie or pie or cake, but i can't (wont?) eat large amounts of them...basically just a taste/bite.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
