Do not worry, just start new tomorrow and follow the plan as per your doctor's instructions, you still have 12 days left so make the best out of them.

Every doctor has a different preop program, I was allowed food from an specific list while others are not allowed anything other than liquid.

You’ll be fine. It’s your pre op diet & your misunderstanding (& that’s what it was & not a deliberate choice to not follow the plan) of something that is new & different to what you know &/or are used to is understandable. liquid diet so you think Soup & maybe yoghurt would be okay. I mean you didn’t eat a giant burger & fries. You realised & are getting back on track so all good.

Oh & this likely won’t be the first & only time you misunderstand something & ‘mess up’ through this. I would think we all did at some point.

All the best.

I believe (at least I was told) that the purpose of the pre-op diet is two fold, first to get your mindset right for the journey ahead, 2nd (and more importantly), to shrink your liver so that the doctor has more room to work during the surgery (as the liver is apparently sits somewhere that the doctor needs to get to).

Because of the way timing worked out for me, I started my pre-op diet 6 days before my surgery. I was pretty diligent about it and my doctor commented post-op on how good of a job I did and that my liver had shrunk considerably and given him enough room to work. So just forget your tiny mistake and press on, you should have more than enough time to meet the goals of the pre-op diet. GOOD LUCK, you got this!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
