Well I guess I will go first and see if the July Peeps will update.

As of Today I’m down 45 lbs and have 37 lbs to go.

Lately I stalled for about a week at 223 lbs, but got through that last night with an insane workout day.

Seems harder and harder to lose a single pound.
Yesterday burned 4700 calories and ate around 800-1000 calories.

Recovery went extremely fast for me thankfully.

Hopefully 🤞 I won’t need yesterdays effort to continue to lose…. Lol 😂

WOW - Inspectorjh84 you are doing awesome. I just joined this forum today, so thank you for sharing about where you are. I had surgery on July 13th without any issues and very exited to have lost 62 LBS as of today and feeling and looking better than I excepted. I am still trying to get set up on this system, but love your running BMI tag at the bottom. Thanks again!

Kathy,

That is so Great! 62 lbs is amazing. Yeah I love the little features this website has. You should enjoy it, people are very motivating and encouraging here. Glad you found our little July surgeries area! Seems to be a trend to start a new one every month...haha.

How restrictive has your sleeve been?

You both are doing great!!!

I was sleeved 7/6/23 as well- the recovery went well.

I do not believe my sleeve was too restrictive as I can eat small meals without discomfort. I do limit my caloric intake to under 1000 calories per day (I track) and I do not eat simple carbs. I have been eating some fruits which I am cutting back on.

I weighed in 3 days ago at 187 lbs, so I am down 43 lbs post surgery, 80 lbs since my first bariatric appointment.

I have been in the middle of stall for the last 2 weeks. Hoping it breaks soon.

The weight loss has definitely slowed, but based on reading others' experience, I am not going to worry at this point. I wanted to be at least 167 lbs by the 6 month mark, but I've lost very little in the last 4 weeks- don't think I'll make it. Anyway, the goal is what matters.

Good luck to you all!

I had my surgery July 4th and the good news is that I am down 60lbs but the bad news is that I ended up between July 3rd and Nov 1st spending 12.5 weeks in hospital with complications following the surgery. I had pancreatitis and then also got infections as the surgery didn't completely close my stomach so I ended up with a small hole.

Ended up having a number of gastroscopes, tubes fitted to my stomach and back to drain the infection and now have an internal tube fitted in my stomach, which will eventually (I hope) make its own way out as my stomach heals.

Had really bad reflux until about two weeks ago when I started taking tablets with simeticone so it has eased considerably. Still in pain often, feels like my stomach is either bruised or pulled muscles.

It is great to have lost the weight, especially as the hospital had me on feeding tubes with nutrients etc., but at the present time I feel like I would not recommend this surgery to anyone unless it was life or death. I lost the last few months of my life basically and know that the trauma is effecting me, can't sleep much (partly due to the pain and partly due to not being able to shift the hours the nurses would wake me), feel exhausted and also feel a bit weepy at times.

Wow 😮 Fifi, so sorry you had that happen, and had to suffer through!

Every surgery definitely has risks.

I had to Share this day with you guys! Look at that calorie Burn! I hiked Enchanted Rock, and Turkey Peak in the same day. Still only ate about 800 calories that day! Plenty of Water though! 61 Pounds down, and 20 to go!

This is amazing @Inspectorjh84!

I am still doing really well. I am not up to that many steps yet, but keeping it over 10K a day, which is really good for me. I am going to join a gym in the next couple weeks to help with the skin and try to tighten up. But I am overall very very happy! I am down 92 LBS and hope to be at 100 LBS by the end of Jan when I will take a flight! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
