Liquids with food

Recommended Posts

That’s always an interesting question @Nomorecookies. I always tried to eat (drink) a lot of the excess liquids first then eat the solids. Same with Soup. (Actually still sort of do this but I think it is a habit now.) But I also look at it as the milk & the liquid stock in a chunky soup actually are a food too, containing Protein & nutrients. I also took ages to eat cereal & soup in the first several months (may be a year 🤷🏻‍♀️) so it was a way of giving the liquids a little time to pass through my digestive system before starting on the solid components.

But check with your team to see what they say.

Makes sense. And At one year out I tolerate it better than earlier on.

I’m about 10 weeks post surgery.

At what point can you drink liquids with food?
With the summer being here, after I come back for a walk, I’d like to drink some Water and heat up dinner. Pretty frustrating I have to wait 30-45 minutes before I can eat and it’s already a long work day.

I’m 15 months from my surgery. I have no problem with eating and drinking, as long as I drink slowly after eating. But when I drink too fast, my stomach hurts and I feel a lot of pressure in my stomach.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
