Can’t keep anything down :-(

Recommended Posts

Hey pals looking for some tips and motivation… i had Vsg April 10 and i was progressing in my food stages good until 3wks ago, i can’t keep anything foods or liquids down… i was suggested by the surgical team to take a step back into liquid and purées but nothing has been staying down. I know I’m not eating or drinking fast, back to using the medicine cups and even trying different temperatures but the end result is always vomiting… I’ve been to the er 2 times and gotten ultrasounds and ct scans but told everything is normal…. I feel so weak and dehydrated and i want to get back to normalcy

that's not normal. Strictures are more common in bypass patients (about 5% of bypassers experience them) but pretty rare in sleevers - but on the other hand, they're not unheard of in sleevers. I'm wondering if that's what's going on. I'm not sure i those will show up on an ultrasound or CT scan or not. Usually they find those on an upper endoscopy. I have no idea, though - that just doesn't sound normal at all.

I wondered if it was possibly a structure too. I’d push your surgeon for better answers & further tests to find out what’s really going on. You shouldn’t be experiencing constant vomiting.

I'd ask my surgeon to order an upper GI series.

Did you ever find out what it was?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
