My surgeon had no general rule against NSAIDs, as he preferred to look at each person as an individual, each of which have different needs.

My surgeon is like this too. After 12 months he said I could have the occasional NSAID if needed. I was to take them rarely (maybe every couple of months or so). Only take one tablet at a time & keep to a low total daily dose & only for a day or 2. Last Wednesday, my oozing discs decided to throw a tantrum. Took a NSAID mid morning, another one mid afternoon but no more. Battled through it on Thursday but the pain wasn’t quite as bad. Only twinges now.

I can tell you from my experience, the only pain meds they gave me in the hospital was Tylenol. With that being said I had absolutely no pain at all, the only thing I couldn't do was bend to put my socks on. However they did give me a prescription for 10 oxys that I never used.

If you have gas pains walk walk walk! Sounds crazy but it’s so important! I came home on 4-6 after my RNY revision. 3 doses of Tylenol has been all I needed. No narcotics. I had a few days worth but never needed anything. I hope you find relief with the diverticulitis flare ups. I would imagine with more mindful food choices and good hydration they will be few and far between. Less inflammation and less husks and nuts.

Be Well!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
