Wanted to see what your program says about raw vegetables, bread and alcohol

My program doesn't allow raw vegetables (no salads) until 5 months post op, no bread products for 6 months (but other carbs are okay), and no alcohol for a year.

Curious to learn

A)when did you start eating/drinking these things post op and how did you handle it?

B)what advice your program gave you about them?

C) experience with your first salad?

raw vegetables - I was told to wait about five months before trying them, too. They can be really hard on your pouch. To be honest, at seven years out, they're still sometimes hard on my pouch (not

Idk, I only focus on myself tbh but I’d hate to be the person not properly warned that a brand new alcohol addiction is possible.

Will keep that in mind! Has anyone tried cooked brussel sprouts post op? I found an awesome recipe for almond flour Protein crust with shaved brussel sprouts and cheese. I want to make it but wondering if brussel sprout baked in the oven is doable.

Yeah I do mine on the grill outdoors. I eat cheese regularly but have had bad times with melted cheese and anything else that is sticky or gluey.

I dont think i did Brussel sprouts during weight loss phase (dont really know why…just didn’t get a chance I guess), but i do now. Either pan-fried or roasted in the oven, and always with bacon, and often with balsamic glaze drizzled on top and/or shaved Parmesan.

I will say though that Brussel spouts are one of the few veggies that fill me up almost as quickly as dense protein (along with cabbage, beets and al dente cauliflower).

yum, though.

You know, it's so strange how the docs vary so wildly on what and when to eat certain foods. My doc says no salads till 6 months out. So naturally I crave them.
