Double Coverage Insurance

Recommended Posts

Blue Cross Blue Shield Alabama has pre approved my surgery. I also have Medicaid as secondary insurance. Do I have to have a pre-approval from medicaid as well, or is preapproval waived since it’s secondary insurance to a procedure being covered by primary?

I think I've read that Medicaid (and Medicare, too) cover bariatric surgery.

I have BCBS of Illinois and medicaid as a secondary insurance. What I was told is that the actual doctor visits and surgery are covered by my primary insurance and medicaid covers what they won't (not for the surgery itself, but for the copays and deductibles). I have about $1500 I have to pay for my deductible and out of pocket expense, and medicaid is paying all but $150 of it. So my actual out of pocket costs are $150 for the sleeve. Not bad (I live in Colorado, so their medicaid is amazing).

How is it you have insurance and Medicaid

Because the Medicaid dropped to secondary once my insurance through work kicked in. I live in a state that almost never takes Medicaid away completely unless you make a LOT of money. I make good money, but I'm a family of 3 and that raises the amount I can make before they completely take it away, and I'm nowhere near that amount. The amount I can make and keep Medicaid as my primary insurance is pretty low, and I make more than that. But I would have to make more than I do now to completely lose it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
