ABC - December 2007 chat

Recommended Posts

Okay, it seems that the August Band Crew from August 2007 has all but disappeared. That means one of two things - that everyone has met their goals or they no longer need support. I guess I will keep it going until I hit my goal which is now only 19 pounds away. I can't quite believe I am in a size 12. I now weigh what I did when I got pregnant 15 years ago. I really want to get to a size 8/10 and I will be happy. I feel so good right now it is not funny. I am working out 5 times a week for 35-45 minutes - jogging on inclined treadmill for 7 minutes, stairstepper for 10 minutes, bike at level 3 for 7-10 minutes, and weight work on upper body including 60-80 situps for 15 mintues. The increased exercise helped the scale to start moving and really caused the inches to just fall off of me. Life is wonderful and I am so glad I had this done. I am so proud of all of us who stuck with this and let it help us toward our goals. I can't believe I am 28 pounds lighter than last Christmas. And I am so enjoying clothes shopping!!!!! Good luck to everyone with their continued success now and into the new year. Robin

I meant to say August 2006 band crew but that is fine. I cannot believe you are in a size 8 that is so amazing. I am in a size 12 but really want to be in a 10. I started a spinning class last week and could not believe I got through it and wasn't sure the next day. I have big thighs, always have, so I am hoping this will help. I cut down on the heavy weights - 10 pounds and am now doing 2-5 pound weights with tons of reps. I also added a cardio class once a week - it is so hard but I am determined to burn more fat and add muscle a little more slowly. I am working out 5-6 days a week for 45 minutes to an hour with group class of some sort at least twice a week. I have learned from the instructors that it is best to vary my exercise during the week. How is everyone looking in their holiday clothes???? I feel so great. My husband's co-worker actually called me skinny. For someone who has at least 20 pounds to go that felt great! Robin

Brandy

You are my hero! You look amazing? How have you done it? Details, details girl!

Thanks Holly!

I work out like a nut really. I exercise at 4 am at a 24 hour gym. I do about 1 hour of cardio and 30 minutes of weights. I eat about 800-1200 calories. Of course it is closer to 1200 this time of the year. Blah..

I have honestly learned it is not about the number you are at, but the happiness! One jean you may want to try if you can find them is

Smith's Marilyn Monoroe Jean. They have awsome stretch but also a panel for the tummy area! It has lots of room in the thigh as well! I love them!

I think you are doing great with exercise, keep it up!

Wow, everyone is doing great. I was banded 8/06 and have lost 52 lbs. and want to lose about 25 more. It will come off slowly but surely. For the first time in my life I lost 6 lbs durring the xmas holidays.:clap2:

For me I had a lot of problems with food being stuck and pb'ing and still do. My menu is still very limited but I get full quick. I have not gotten any fills since surgery, my body can't handle it, so I have 1.3cc in 4cc band, but this works for me, which is ok. I rarely exercise outside of working my physical job, I work in home health care and OT, that's about enough for me. It amazes me how you all are going to gym and actually liking it.

Prior to surgery - did anybody ever work out, what give you the motivation now??? Do tell, please.:)

HELL NO, I never went to the gym! I was 320 pounds, NO way I was going to the gym. Somehow loosing the 20 pounds in pre op and 1st couple of weeks after surgery motivated me to go. Why being under 300 made it better I will never know. BUT it is a great stress reliever now!

Hey there, Geri. I was banded on 12/12/07....so new I haven't had my first visit post-op yet. I'm pretty nervous because I haven't followed the rules and I've only lost about 12-14 pouns since surgery....my own fault and willing to accept that responsibility. How are you doing? When was your surgery? Good luck, and be well.

Ok..I'm definitely lost now. I am very new to these forum things, but when I clicked on December, it brought me HERE. It also shows December above...is it possible BooBoo Kitty, though an old pro, may be mistaken? Sorry, but I'm entirely confused now....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
