Hi all

Had my sleeve on 19th, all good so far, BUT, has anyone else noticed they have really gone off things ?

I now can’t stand taste of vanilla, and can’t stand the smell of my favourite perfume and I was a Diet Coke addict and have not even wanted one, not a bad thing I know, but odd, especially the smell

Yes, those things happen but will get better with time. I was a Coke Zero addict but do not miss it. I also am a coffee addict. My program allows up to 2 cups of coffee per day right after surgery but I didn't want it for at least a month. After that month of no coffee I am back to my coffee but limit myself to 2 or 3 cups per day.

yes. My taste for most of them eventually came back, though. Although not for bananas. At six years out, I still don't like them - too cloying. I loved them before surgery.

I had my sleeve on the 20th aug day 7 post surgery blues.

Hi! I think a lot of people start to feel a little down after surgery not only because it's stressful on the body, but also it's when the reality of losing one of our most comfortable coping mechanisms becomes evident. The next few months will be a time when you'll think a lot about what triggers you to eat and how to come up with alternative feel-good tactics. I had the band before and with the band and now the sleeve, there is this mental recovery period. But soon you will start figuring out new ways to deal with those negative triggers like stress or sadness, And then you will find yourself happier than you've ever been before!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
