I'm hoping for September for me, so I'll be right behind y'all, asking a ton of questions. (Hope you always wanted an annoying little sister! ?)

I start my pre-op diet on 7/26. I've had a couple of "food funerals" recently - though I've been able to keep my weight stable. Definitely getting nervous. Having a lot of What If thoughts. What if I don't lose weight? What if I have complications? Then there's the melancholy that comes though...am I never going to be able to enjoy food again?

Hanging in there....

I was worried about that too but at 4.5 months out I am able to eat everything I ever ate before surgery with the exception of only rice and pop corn and those I just haven’t tried yet because they say they are difficult foods. I have even had steak!!

I'm scheduled for RNY though. So I guess we'll just see how it goes! Trial and error :)

Started my liver shrink diet on the 7th- I’m more than a week in and you know what? I’m freaking perplexed. I haven’t lost any weight. I’ve been good too. Oh well. I know the weight-loss will come.

I got my surgery instructions from the doctor today. My arrival time isn’t till 12:30 pm but they still want me to stop eating and drinking at midnight. I’m gonna be hella nauseated by the time I roll up in there.

20 days!

Wow! I've been on my journey since February 2021. I'm so glad I now I have a date. I was denied by my insurance after 5 months of pre-op appointments so I'll be going to Mexico.

I am getting mine done in Mexico too. When r u going and what surgeon??

Hi August Peeps. I am going to have my bypass in Mexico on 21st. Will fly into San Diego on 20th and go to hospital for some testing. Will stay in motel that night and have surgery on Saturday morning. Will spend 2 days in hospital and the fly Home late on Monday.

I'm the 18th as well!

I'm very excited but also a bit nervous. Still going back and forth wether this is the right choice for me.

I know I'll probably never lose the weight without the surgery, but I'm afraid I'll fall back into old habits after having the surgery. Is anybody else having these doubt/concerns?

Gosh, yes! My surgery is on 4th September and while am really excited the thought of not being able to eat properly or enjoy food with family & friends does give mixed emotions. I know that even if I lose weight on yet another diet, it will only be a matter of time before I pile it on and then some. Need a long long term solution - and deep down I know this is the right course of action for me. Look forward to hearing how you get on next month! All the best x
