I’m 13 days post-vsg and did a 6 mile walk yesterday. Pre-surgery I was getting pain in my calves just going short distances. It was so nice to be able to walk without issue again. I was very sedentary. In October I got an Apple Watch. I set the excercise goal at 10 minutes. Hardly closed the rings in the first couple months. Then, I decided each month to add on 5 minutes and just do “something”. I have closed the rings every day since mid-January. (I do tweak the goals at times - like Surgery day) I was at 35 minutes per day pre-surgery. I did walking or Fitness+ workouts. Post-surgery, I have just been walking. My speed is finally back up to a “brisk” walk level. It was slow going in the beginning. Once I’m given clearance, I plan to resume strength workouts.

Exercise wasn’t the issue for me - it was the eating. Hence, the surgery.

I used to hate exercising! It felt too hard and boring.
Still, I started walking right away after surgery and it got easier to walk further and uphill. By 8 weeks, I was in the tail end of a stall and wanted to build some muscle mass to boost my metabolism. So I ordered a resistance bands set from Amazon and I love it. Every day, I either walk or do a 15-30 min video from YouTube. Since I can do it in my living room and it’s short, it doesn’t feel like as much of a commitment. I sweat a little and feel like I accomplished something.
The other day after doing a 20 min video, I put on a yin yoga video and stretched and felt sooooo good.
I feel strong and have more energy these days.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
