I CANNOT believe that I stand here in a size 10 jeans, I’m not sure I EVER even THOUGHT I would wear that size jeans! Talk about a NSV!! ( down from a 24/26 Jean)

Congratulations!!! I know that feeling. I know i never imagined I would be in the sizes I am now. It really is a surreal and "holy crap" moment.

Keep up the great work!

I did my 4 month post op measurements and It was the first time in years that my measuring tape fit around my hips, for accurate measuring, without me having to mark and remeasure due to my hips being larger then my measuring tape fitting once around. What a feeling!

Well, I went to Florida this past week. Did 4 days at Disney/Universal parks. Walked 7 or MORE miles EVERY DAY!

What??? 7 MILES A DAY!! I would have had to stop and take breaks, maybe quit half way through the day previously!

My feet hurt, but everyone's did. So I don't take that as a weight issue at this point, just A LOT OF WALKING!

When I was at my highest weight, it felt like my body was just running out of places to put more fat and I started getting pads of fat in weird places.
Today I noticed that my "buffalo hump" (fat pad between my shoulder blades) is gone and my back is a more normal shape. And also my "hotdog bun" (rolls of fat at the nape of my neck) is basically gone. The pad on my shin just below my kneecap is almost gone.
I'm still fat as of now, but just in the usual places.
I also had a buffalo hump and it was so uncomfortable. I couldn't even bed my head back or lie on my back because of it. It feels so much better now that it's gone!

I'm happy to hear that you had a wonderful time there. I can't wait for our next family trip

Yesterday I was laying in bed. On my back flat and suddenly realized my boobs are higher than my stomach!!! I really think this is the first time EVER!

I have always had small boobs, and now deflated small boobs so this is really saying something! hahaha

I didn't see my stomach! Even when I inflated or pushed it up my boobs were still higher! WOOHOO

Also... hip bones..like real hip bones sticking out like skinny folk. Only when I am laying on my side cause all the skin lays on the bed.. but I WILL TAKE IT!

here is one.. I adjusted the drivers seat in a car!

I pulled a work vehicle seat closer to the steering wheel (yay!!) but even more amazing I was sitting in the seat and could actually reach down and adjust without getting out of the car or straining !! as little as four months ago there is no way i could have done that. My body’s bulk prevented that sort of movement.

I fell asleep with out my CPAP mask on after using the washroom a few nights ago and did not snore or feel tired the next day. I slept quite well. I think I might not be in need of my CPAP soon. Going to talk with my doc and set up a sleep study. Keep you all posted

Ok so on Saturday I went to a band exhibition and walked over 10,000 steps most of which was uphill(I wish I was joking). And I'm still alive today B) And only had reasonable soreness the next day. One of the other chaperones even joked about how weird me and another chaperone were because we managed to hold a conversation the entire up hill climb from busses to stadium. It struck me then I never would've been able to do that 6 months ago, nor would I have been able to recover so quickly. And it was a 17 hour day and I managed to keep my energy up all day.

I stopped using mine about 3 months after surgery and have not touched it since. After losing significant weight, you may not need it at all. I obviously would check with your doctor, but it is not uncommon.

Finally got rid of my XXL pre-surgery coats. Bought smalls and mediums last winter in casual jackets, but didn’t have a dress coat. I found two beautiful coats, both on sale, but one was an XXS and one was a size 2. I thought, “No way” but tried them anyway. They’re form fitting, but fit. Got them both! Yippee!!!!

My watch fell off. I always liked to wear my watch loose, more like a Bracelet, but the other day i was reaching for something and whoop! There it went. (Cheap watch, didn't hurt it.) But I just stood there, like I had done a magic trick, lol. Slipped it back on, wiggled it off. Gotta find someone to take out links. 😋

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
