I can feel my neck and under my chin now!!! No more double and a half chin. Now I have an actual chin. Just one. I keep looking at my face and touching under my chin LOL I literally can't remember the last time I had just one chin!!!!

I still have a double+ chin, but I can flex my neck and see tendons now.

I watched a video where a bariatric doctor said that not having fat around your neck/upper chest is a good proxy for loss of visceral fat, so I'm stoked. I keep flexing my neck in the mirror whenever I'm alone with one!

I went clothes shopping with a friend today. Normally I wear a 22 or 24. Today I actually squeezed into an 18 in 2 different brands. I didn’t buy them, I think I’m 10-20 pounds away from that…but the fact that I get them on and my friend said I looked good, meant the world to me. I even got a few 2x shirts instead of the 3x I normally wear. But with that being said, I also did get a few 3x, due to the cuts being different. I’m on cloud 9!

I went shoe shopping for dress shoes today... first time in a LOOOOOONG time I've thought of having anything but sneakers on my feet. I got 3 pair! And not only are they nice looking I went from a size 10 wide to a size 9 1/2 regular! And did I mention they felt nice? So excited to be able to wear nice clothes to work and match with nice shoes.

My surgery is this Wednesday, BUT it felt good cooking for my family the last 2 weeks and not feeling bad that I couldn’t be enjoying it too. And knowing that I am making changes for the better.
I was dreading the liquid diet… now, I’m not.

I can relate. I love buying beautiful high heels now instead of wide sneakers. Shoe shopping and clothes shopping are fun.

Amen! I never wore high heels because balancing on the balls of my feet was painful - but 85 pounds later, it's not! I could run around in heels all day!

Going diving as a much smaller person is the last remaining item on my weight-loss bucket list!!!! First we had vacays in inappropriate diving destinations, then I had plastics, then effing covid...so the last time I went diving was in summer 2018. And I had to pack on 20 lbs of weights (of which I was always slightly embarrassed of because everyone else was at like 10lbs or less...plus its frickin' heavy walking around...ugh).

I am over more than 1/2 the weight/size of I used to be (not to mention a marked increase in muscle mass percentage) so I have no idea what my new weight requirements will be...but am thoroughly excited to find out....oh and equally excited to not have to wear a men's XL wetsuit!!!

Crossing my fingers that it will happen by end of this year. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Finally went diving!! (First time since surgery!)

Pleased to report that:

1) I went down from an XL BCD to an XXS!

2) Went from 18-20 lbs of required weights to 6! (8lbs if i wore a wetsuit)

3) Speaking of wetsuits…i used to wear a Men’s XL, and now a woman’s size 2 (though if they had a size 1, it probably would’ve been better)

I was NOT all sweaty and tired lugging all my gear around on land, got in and out of the boat with little to no effort, AND was looked cute in pictures lol.

WIN!

I am slowly getting in high heels too. but carefully, I still need to loose 40 pounds and i do not know how that will happen, I am hungry all day.

Just came back from a trip to Orange Beach, Alabama. I took a walk every day on the beach and I can't explain the freedom I feel being able to walk so easily in the sand and not be completely out of breath and sweaty with my heart pounding. I think I posted last year that it was great to walk on the beach in Navarre, Florida, but I I weighed 40 pounds more then so it's even better now! Also, being able to go in any store and buy souvenir t shirts is such a great feeling. I never could get those before. And I bought 2 swim cover ups in ONE SIZE FITS ALL and they fit with room! That baffles me! I didn't even need those cover ups because I already have several. I just bought them because I could. Lol

Got a new one yesterday. I had lunch with a former coworker who I have not seen in years. He told me how I looked good and all then said that he noticed I was not constantly hiking up my pants like I had done nearly constantly in the past. I had not really given it much thought but it is true. Now that I have no belly to push down my pants I have no urgency to keep hiking them up. I did not realize how noticeable it must have been.

(Someone may have posted this before, if so, I apoligize..) My steering wheel is no longer touching my tummy. I am rather short, so I always have my seat forward, usually as far as it will go. And it was rubbing my tummy. Now it isn't!

So, I always use "cross body" purses because when I put them on my shoulder they always slide off and it annoys me.

If I am only going from the car to the house sometimes I may just hold it or put it on my shoulder, I don't know why? Quicker? haha

Anyway, the other day I put my purse on my shoulder and walked to my house and noticed it never slid off. Didn't think anything of it, then did it again yesterday and again, it didn't slide off. WHAT?

Did it slide off because I was fat? Is that really a thing? Does it stay now because my shoulders are thinner? Is it coincidence? Is this a NSV? I don't even know, but I will take it and I am adding it to my NSC bank. haha

This is not the first thing that changed and I had no idea it was the way it was because of my weight? For example, moving my seat forward. Even being 400+lbs my belly never touched the steering wheel. I am 6ft tall. I assumed my seat was moved back because of my height, but as I lost weight I noticed I needed to move my seat forward. I guess less back/butt fat allows me to sit further back in the seat which makes me further away from the steering wheel.

Scooting forward on the couch before getting up, like to the edge and then standing up. I just always did it, never realized it was because I was fat but just thought it was normal. Never paid attention if anyone else got up like that. But, like a week ago I noticed that I just got up. From my normal sitting position, did not scoot to the edge of the couch first. Then, i noticed it and was like UHHH what just happened. It was not intentional it just happened and surprised me. So then i started paying attention if my thinner friends got up the same way and they do. So, another "I didn't know it was because I was fat" NSV!

It is so weird how we (or at least myself) has been so big for so long that things we think are completely normal are really just our normal and we didn't even realize it until suddenly they weren't OUR NORMAL! It is kinda cool; actually it is very cool!

Def an NSV.

I noticed this too as I lost weight! Looking at old pictures, my trapezoid area shrunk (the part between the side base of your neck and the top of your shoulder). And as it did, a little dip formed there that was a perfect little cubby to hold my purse strap in place! Lol.

So yeah, add it to your NSV list, ha!

Makes sense. I guess everything shrinks. My collar bones are playing peak-a-boo too. They want to make an appearance but just pop out once in a while for now. hahaha

Posted (edited)

Maybe not a weird victory, but today I bought a coat in size 44 (same as UK 16 and US 12 or 14) for the first time in years. I asked to try 46 or 48, but the 46 was too big for me. So that was nice.

I've also noticed that my eye bags, which have bothered me for years, are slightly better. And I had surgery less than two weeks ago and have only lost 15 pounds, so I'm excited about what the future will bring.

Hello Joset, why haven't you been given a diet plan? Did you have your surgery in the UK? Every surgeon has a different diet, and no two people are on the same one. Weird I know. Contact your team if you can

Mine was two weeks clear liquids

Two weeks on soups, milk shakes and broths all with out lumps

        two weeks on pureed foods { I couldn't stomach this step }

two weeks on soft foods like Protein yogurt, stewed mince and veg, soft scrambled eggs. Pate on hard crackers

Then onto any food I fancied. If you struggle on any step or with any foods go back a step for a few days. Eggs, salmon and chicken are hard for beginners.

Sorry I missed your original post, hope you are still on here.
