Raisin bread is simple carbs. Not a great choice. I wish it were, I love it, but it's gone from my diet because it's essentially a donut...white bread with raisins in it...super processed white flour, dried fruit is concentrated sugar, and almost no Fiber to slow the sugar bomb down. Sugar bombs cause insulin rebound that makes you even hungrier...and you're more likely to snack. Be careful of too much fruit in smoothies, too. Lots of sugar and calories. Not saying not to eat fruit, just be very mindful of your sugar items and balance them with FIBER...it'll help.

Track every calorie. When we pay attention to every single thing we graze on...it adds up crazy fast.

I’m only 1 1/2 weeks out and on full liquid, but I’ve been starving since the beginning! I sometimes think he didn’t cut much stomach out as I can hold more than I’m supposed to. DREAMING of the puréed stage to get some eggs. I don’t know how I will lose a lot if always hungry. If I could have done this before, I wouldn’t need the surgery! I feel your pain!

In having that same prblm! I'm eating about every 2-3hrs & starving. I'm literally eating out of a baby's bowl to measure my meals. I find it harder to lose now than I did b4 this. The full liquid was a breeze. I'm back to that to c if Ican lose more than 3lbs b4 I c the Dr on the 10th.

Today I upped my Protein . I had half of Premier Protein with some Greek yogurt and made a shake and I was pretty full off that and then I had some salmon with avocado. I think the shake helped to cut down some of the hungry. I’m new to this and figuring it out as well. Have you tried that ?

Protein Shake & yogurt smoothies are a delight. It's filling & takes the crave of sugar away. I like that. Thanks! 😊

I'm a sloooow loser, average 1.9 pounds (.86 kg) a week. I keep track of my food. 600-700 calories. Days that I eat more than 20g of carbs (usually when I crave bread, I will eat some questionable Keto bread, usually just a single slice) I will stall for days. Sigh, such is life. I'm hungry all the time, I resort to drinking more Water, squeeze my daily exercise or drinking tea.

I am also on my pureed stage and am feeling super down. I am constantly hungry. I had 2 tbsp of cream of wheat for Breakfast made with 1/2 c Fairlife skim milk.... was hungry about an hour later. So, I had a smoothie I made (1 c. Fairlife, 1/2 container greek yogurt, 2 tbsp blueberries, 2 tbsp raspberries, 1/4 banana, 1 scoop genepro). 11 am rolled around... I was hungry again! I waited until lunch (12:00 for me) and had 1/4 c ham salad and 3 tbsp cottage cheese. Now it is 3 pm and I am hungry again! I am so stinking frustrated. Am I doing something wrong? I feel like I'm overeating!

Hello,

I was extremely hungry post-op. I will tell you however, I am 3 weeks post-op. I am not hungry, but still very nauseated. I still find it hard to eat regular foods. I get weak because I am not able to eat. I am supposed to be 3-4 oz. I am still 1-2 oz and it takes me about an hour to get that down. I hope that your experience is better than mine.

I hv tried the Protein Drink &added fruit & ice to Make a shake. I had a slice of cinnamon bread w a teaspoon of Peanut Butter & 1slice of Romain lettuce w a teaspoon of mayo & a flour of low salt turkey (i took out 2pieces of lettuces thinking i was gonna eat both, but I couldn't so i saved that for later. All of this wasn't in 1 seating... 😆 plus my exercise. O only lost 3lbs in 1 month. I'm doing something wrong of i can't lose more than that? Other days I'll eat oatmeal in the a.m., fish & lettuce & sugar free ice pops & chicken with a salad... no tomatoes. But I'll b starving after an hr of eating. I measure everything

What am I doing wrong?!

I am not in the same stage as you having just had my surgery a week ago but I did lose 13lbs in the two weeks before surgery by drinking 2 Ensure Protein Shakes and in between I would have a bowl of steamed veggies. snack before dinner I would do raw carrots and celery with Walden Farms zero calorie dressing. Dinner was a salad with 2 oz's of baked Turkey, Fish or chicken. If I needed snack before bed I would do the sugar free popsicle's. That worked for me. Since I had my surgery I have been on Protein shakes and some broth only so cant really say much about post surgery but did lose another 10lbs the last week. Don't get discouraged. Try changing up your workout a bit. Do Treadmill or go for a walk instead of Bike (alternate). I would say maybe take the cinnamon bread out of the equation as may be contributing to a stall. Just remember - you've got this!

Thanks. I hv changed the way I've bn eating, thinking & exercising. I got on my Eliptical (I think that's how it's spelled) for 15 mins every other day, been doing alot of repotting my plants (that's took a day) & I bought a dance pad for Christmas to play w my grands (they r only here 2x's a year) cleanings 1 bdrm at a time (I hv 4) & painting them plus I'm forcing myself to nibble every 3hrs so I don't starve myself. I am getting my fluids in (ole lucky 🍋, 🥒 & a splash of cran-raspberry) My hunger pains are gone but I hvnt bn on the scale. I hv noticed my body shape is coming around so I might b losing inches right now. This STALL thingy is mind boggling but even if I lose 8lbs my crazy Dr will tell me it's not enough! I just figured I'm going to let him rant & rave this time. He's worst than Dr Now on my 600lbs life. Uuuugh.... I dread seeing him

So I am just thinking about getting the sleeve surgery. My first appt at hospital is tomorrow. I seen this post, so after co pay, and surgery, people are still hungry? Still trying to stay on strict diet? I could save 5000 dollars, and skip surgery and fight with the diet alone. This is depressing, I thought the surgery would help me not be so hungry, an aid in loosing the weight.

@Troyg a lot of us posting here are only weeks out of surgery and are still on liquids/purees/soft foods. A lot of 'veterans' have commented that you feel the restriction more once you can eat foods with more texture because soft foods and purees don't take long to go through. I do not regret my surgery, although some days are tough. While it is a personal decision, I don't regret my sleeve at all.

I hv an Ass for a Dr. His directions stuck bcuz 1 at they tell me to go by the book like it's my Bible. Then after surgery he tells me NOT to go by the book so I hv no ideal where in suppose to b. But I'm SUPER GLAD I took this plunge. I'm going slow but I c my shape coming along... I feel if I had Good direction I would b in a better place. But over all I'm glad I did this &yes I lost about 20lbs (being I wasn't that big to begging w) according to me lol.

Go for it!!. Everyone's different. Good luck w Your new journey!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
