My doctor was saying I would only have to take a Vitamin B-12 spray so I was just curious if you have to take vitamins the rest of your life like Gastric Bypass patients because I have seen different things on here.

Yes, my MD has a vitamin regimen that is for life. It’s nothing too onerous though, just a multi/d/b/calcium.

Some sleeve patients are able to get enough nutrients from food and don't have to take supplements forever. You will have to get bloodwork done regularly to check for deficiencies.

At my bariatric surgeon's, they put everyone on vitamins and tell them it's lifelong - with roux en y you definitely need to take them forever but sleeve it depends on how your labs come back.

I'm a sleeve and was told to take sublingual B12, a multi vit, and 1200mg of calcium citrate + D3 daily for the rest of my life.
