3 months post surgery thoughts...

Recommended Posts

Well, today I am 3 months post surgery. Thought I would share a few thoughts.

I'm down 74 lbs as of this morning from my first day of preop diet on 11/2. 294 to 220. Holy cats, 40 lbs to go.

Down to 38 jeans from 44s. Heading to 36s soon.

Headgames are real!!! Head hunger, stalls, worries, etc. All of it. It takes time to wrap your head around all of it.

My pecker is back! Nuff said.

I can tie my shoes without cramping up. Lol. I can bend over, I can get off the couch. Etc.

I'm able to build muscle at 52. This is a surprise. I thought it would be harder to regain what I'd lost, but so far I have been successful in getting my arms back.

I can eat whatever I want. No problems getting hot, cold, and have made goals from the beginning, but have great restriction.

All in all, it has been as advertised, but, some days can be a challenge. Its amazing how one bite too many, can make you miserable for an hour. Measuring, has been a big help.

It sounds like you are doing great and I agree with everything you said. The head games really are tough and are going to be one of the hardest things that I myself have to work on as well.

I also had surgery just a few days before you and have gone from 260 to 184. This surgery has changed my life significantly and I can do every task that I need to do without huffing and puffing like I once was. I feel like I now have my life back. I will mention that body dysmorphia is real as well. I have also had what I call weight dysmorphia, I forgot what I weighed in at and was really confused until I saw the previous weight and I was in a lower weight bracket than before.

Congrats! That's one of the many things about this that makes it worth it. The turtle is gone.

Well said. I would look away from the mirror when getting out of the shower. It was absolutely heartbreaking.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
