Hair Transplant surgery after sleeve

Recommended Posts

I had this scheduled intiatially at Natural hair Transplants in Ft Lauderdale 2 months after sleeve surgery. I only need in my front area as I have good full hair on 80% of my head. The transplnted follicles fall out after a few weeks but start growing in at 3-4 months. The results are amazing at 9-12 months. I want to wait long enough that the hair surgery was is is not an issue due to dificiencies. My original date got postponed because of rise in Covid on 12/16 and hair surgery wa

s scheduled for 2/16/21. I believe I will schedule 3-4 months out. How long did you guys have problems with your hair after surgery?

You’ll likely start noticing Hair loss at about 3 months post surgery & it will continue for 3-4 months but some have different experiences. For me it slowed once I hit maintenance & I was consuming more. I lost about 40% of my hair - thank goodness I had a lot to begin. Not sure if men have a different experience but I wouldn’t imagine they would.

Honestly, I’d wait on the hair transplant. Your body is undergoing a lot of stress & change which is why your hair sheds at a faster rate during your weight loss. My surgeon told me my body had better things to do with what I was consuming than grow hair while I was losing. It’s something to consider.

Speak with your bariatric medical team & your transplant team & see what they recommend.

Thanks that is good info and what I plan to do. May need to wait 6 months or so after the surgery. Thanks again!

I haven’t had surgery yet but I’ve heard on here, other sites, and from my surgeon that Hair loss from surgery is usually temporary and it comes back around 12-18 months after surgery when your metabolism stabilizes. It’s different for everyone but you might not even need the transplant! Either way I’d wait at least a year. Good luck!

mine started falling out when I was about six months out and lasted maybe three months (so months 6-9). I didn't lose very much, though.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
