I am scheduled for surgery on Monday, February 1st (3 days and still waiting for insurance authorization) and it just hit me that I am a stomach sleeper. Am I going to get any sleep after the surgery while healing? Is it possible to sleep on your stomach soon after surgery?

I too am a stomach sleeper. I am almost 2 months post-op and have no problems sleeping on my stomach now. I had to sleep on my sides for a few weeks after surgery. I would forget and roll over to my stomach. It never hurt, it was just uncomfortable.

That was one of my biggest concerns as a stomach sleeper. I had my surgery on Jan 14 and spent two nights in the hospital. Honestly, sleeping on my back in the hospital wasn’t as bad as them coming in to check vitals at 2 am or draw blood at 4:15 am. I was back sleeping on my stomach after 6 days. Really wasn’t uncomfortable. I’ve been sleeping soooo much better since then.

It took me about three weeks before I could comfortably sleep on my stomach. Before that I used a pregnancy pillow. Not the same quality of sleep as actually sleeping on my stomach but it helped. You'll also be so tired during those first weeks, you might not care what position you are in! Good luck!

I made it back to my stomach by the 5th night. I'm glad it didn't last too long.

I’m so glad! It makes such a huge difference when you can sleep in your preferred position!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
