I am 3 weeks post op. I wore jeans for the 1st time Friday. My stomach started getting sore. It is really sore today especially when I lay on my side. I also had a herina repair on my right side of my stomach during surgery. When I am on my back, I don't have any pain. Any suggestions?

Have you considered using a post surgerical binder? Here's one, but also check the BariatricPal Store to see if they have something similar:

Get well soon and Congratulations

More time - you are still healing. And wear loose pants.

I don't think I wore *anything* remotely tight, pants or underwear wise, for about a month and a half post op. Any kind of pressure (even just my cat trying to lay on my belly) hurt my muscles there.

You're healing still. Stick to loose and comfy pants as much as you can until you are 100% sure you can handle something otherwise. It's different for everyone, but it'll cause you less discomfort in the long run while your muscles heal.

I did leggings and if something hurt i didnt do it. Touch base with your bariatric team about the soreness but maybe try to avoid the positions that cause it if u just came out of surgery. I was pretty sore for awhile (positioning pulls on incisions and deeper cuts) but it gradually improved. Invested in more pillows to make things comfy while healing

I have been having the same issue since going back to work. (16 days op) My right side will start to ache from sitting in my office chair. I get up and walk around and/or roll my jeans under my belly flap to ease some of the discomfort. I’m also fighting muscle pain in my upper back daily. Any others have that issue and if so how did you cope?

I’m having the same pain. It’s burning in my back. If I could do yoga I know it would help but since I can’t I don’t know what to do. It’s like I need muscle relaxers or something.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
