Hi guys, so I’m 2 weeks post op and yesterday mid day all of a sudden I couldn’t taste or smell anything, I already had covid test before surgery and was negative, and I’ve been home pretty much ever since, I’m hoping I didn’t get covid from the hospital somehow ?, anyone else have any similar problems? Going to go get tested again just in case. Wish me luck!

That doesn't sound surgery related. Loss of taste and small is a big sign of COVID. You should definitely get tested and isolate from other people. Sorry

This isn't something you normally hear about pertaining to WLS. Usually it is altered or heightened sense of taste and smell.

If not covid could be from the tube going in your mouth n down the throat. It can knock things. I had a blood clump in one nostril when i awoke from the surgery

It sounds like Covid to me, so I'm glad to hear you're getting tested, and I hope it isn't!
