Insurance approved but gained a few pounds

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

So I got my insurance approval and have surgery this Thursday, August 13 and my doctor is not requiring me to do the liquid diet. I had one last get together, plus my time of the month, somehow gained like 10 pounds from my original weight. I’m so upset about it. But my pre-op appointment is at the hospital this Tuesday and worried about my weight gain. I’m doing the liquid diet on my own starting tomorrow. When I called my doctors office they said it should be fine. But I’m still nervous, has anyone day of surgery denied?

Thank you!

I think if they already approved you - you should be fine. I wouldn't worry about it.

Four days away from surgery! Congratulations! That's so exciting!

If the surgeon's office said it will be fine, it will be fine. They don't want to put you on the schedule and go through all the prep only to cancel the day of surgery. They would tell you if there were any requirements about not gaining weight before surgery. Good luck!

Thank y’all so much! That’s such a relief! Thanks for taking away some stress for me. My surgery is the 13th so we’re almost the same date! Keep me updated and good luck! I’m so excited for you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
