I find these at costco. They are so creamy and so much cheaper than the Starbucks egg bites. The Flavcity guy recommended them too. They also have a ham and cheese one too.

These are my absolute favorite! This flavor particularly is the best of all of them in my opinion.

I would not eat this - I have to be very very careful with artificial sweeteners. It has erythritol and sorbitol both which cause me to have the runs really really really badly. I cannot drink any of the weight loss shakes or meal replacers or these "diet bars" no zero calorie sweetened yogurt, no low cal/low sugar ice creams unless I read the ingerdients really carefully. Anyone with celiac disease of gluten intolerance also should be VERY careful with these.

I'm the exact same way and I'm pre-op. Literally the only artificial sweetener that doesn't give me gas or the runs is Sucralose.

Has anyone tried shrewd food Protein puffs? Someone recommended them (they sell on Amazon) but I am curious to know if anyone else likes them.

They sell these at Walmart and they are just 35 calories and “snack” size is perfect for us.

Update: I went ahead and ordered these and tried them. I do not recommend them. The Quest chips are better.

I was wondering about them too. Too bad. What was wrong with them?

Well I think part of it was that the nacho cheese flavor (the first I tried out of the variety pack) looked like cheese balls but tasted nothing like them. They were more the consistency and crunch of croutons but nacho cheese flavored. I also tried the pizza flavor and was not a fan. Then I tasted the desert ones (cookies and cream and strawberries and cream) and for lack of better description they were too vanilla (which I stole from my hubbies reaction (just Blah to me). They do make croutons which I am waiting for a salad to try and I think they may actually be good because that’s the consistency the others had. I will update if so cause Protein packed croutons would be a great product to have in our bag of tricks. All that being said, if you are not a consistency person, I would try them because the flavors weren’t bad and my best friend loves them. They have the variety pack (including the croutons) on Amazon.

I’m sure it’s in here somewhere but I don’t have the time to go through every post…. Can someone recommend a low sugar marinara or Tomato sauce that’s good for the ricotta bake? Thank you in advance! You guys are the best!

I like Rao’s marinara. Kind of expensive, but worth it in my opinion.

You can always make your own Tomato sauce/Passata & totally control the ingredients. It’s pretty easy. Just blanch your tomatoes & peel off their skin. Quarter them & cut out the seeds. You can cook them on the stove or roast them in the oven. You can cook up onion with the tomato too. Add herb & spices, salt & pepper as you want. Even a splash of balsamic vinegar - brings out the tomatoes natural sweetness. No need for sugar. When cooked blend & sieve. Freezes well too so you can make in bulk.

Rao’s is the best but if you want something cheaper, Newman’s Own marinara is very good and has no added sugar.

Rao’s is absolutely the best. I figure since I’m not eating that much spending the extra for good marinara is worth it.

Thank you all! Ok! Rao’s it is! Do you blend and strain or use as is for puréed stage? I start REAL food tomorrow! Puréed or not, I’m stoked! 21 days felt long! 😆.
Any other meal/recipe suggestions for the phase that you love?
love this group!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
