Congratulations! I’m 2 1/2 weeks out and I add two teaspoons of Benefiber to my Water each day. It’s keeping me regular. Keep sipping, it will get better everyday.

Drink standing up helps then walk around a little bit, especially after/Protien shake consumption. Also dont get scared if you start dropping 2lbs a day. Just hit your h2o and protien goals and you'll do fine.

I did Miralax.. it is gentle. I was constipated for days and googled around until I read about someone having to go to the ER because of anal blockage, so make sure to get the Constipation things figured out soon! It's not good to get too backed up.

it's very common for VSG and RNY patients not to have a BM for up to a week after surgery, but I don't know if that's the case for DS patients. I know they often have issues with diarrhea, but I'm not sure if that's true right after surgery. I'd call my surgeon to see if he/she suggests anything. A lot of your intestines are affected by that particular surgery, so if it were me, I'd feel more comfortable with professional advice.

I’m 5 months post op DS. I didn’t have the same issues with my bowels, but for Water I kept a shot glass with me and drank it every 15 min. I did that for probably two weeks and it really helped. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
