9 weeks post-op

Recommended Posts

I am 9 weeks post op and down 30lbs. Not the fastest weight loss but I’m happy with it. I haven’t gained any since starting, just a steady loss. I can pretty much eat anything.. haven’t tried much salad or of course steak. Had a super long 2-3 week stall and the pounds are coming off again. I think once you’re healed it starts coming back off?? Anyone else feel that?? I’m just going off what I’ve read on here and what I’m experiencing. I am feeling better as the weeks go on. More confident, which has been a struggle.

I'm almost 7 weeks out and like you I haven't had any issues with any foods so far (I had some raw spinach today after my Protein and it went down fine). I haven't had red meat yet so no clue how that will go. I also had a long stall (3.5 weeks) which seems to have broken. During that I had days where I went up and days where I went down so I finally stopped weighing daily.. I thought I could handle it but apparently not so much :) Overall I am feeling good, exercising daily and just following the plan.

Yeah, same here. I stayed at the same weight maybe a few ounces different during the stall. I hope I’m finally past that! I think we see the first 15-20 come off so fast it’s like we expect that to continue lol. Weighing daily is def a struggle lol. I’ve taken days off from weighing and it seems that’s when I drop a pound or two lol

So encouraging to hear. I am only a week out, so I'm so curious about what is coming. Do you find you just naturally are stopping at about a cup of food? Also, did your doctor's office tell you to weigh every day?

Congratulations and good luck!

I have learned to stop at about 3/4 cup of food. A cup is too much at this point. And no, my doctor's office didn't have anything to say about weighing every day. My opinion is it's probably not the best idea. I take days off from weighing and feel a lot better than weighing and seeing the scale not move lol

I try to remind myself to only weigh in every week (every Monday) so I don't get too obsessed with numbers. I'm five weeks post op and seeing a huge difference in my clothing size (I don't see it in the mirror or anything, but photos are showing me that I HAVE indeed made a dent).

I'm eating good Protein now, too. I went three weeks without food because my gallbladder tried to murder me and stalled out during that, but I'm back to actually losing. :D

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
