January 2020 Surgery Date

  • Popular Post

Let's make this the official January surgery date thread. I will be having my surgery on 1/31/2020. I was certain that I was going to have the vsg, but I'm learning more and leaning towards the rouxny (rny) gastric bypass. Whatever you decide, let's get this thread started and support one another. I'm just starting it, but anyone can feel free to jump in and keep it going ?.

Just had my pre-op clearance appointment with my surgeons nurse practitioner and everything is set for my surgery on January 16th. Nothing to do now but wait.

I literally just found out a couple of hours ago that I am scheduled for Jan. 15th! I'm so excited (and freaked out!). Best of luck to all the January folks!

Hi all! I’m a few hours post-op and all went excellent! Very slight pain, almost none. No nausea. I’m going to take a nap now, so more details later. Thanks for all the support! ❤️

Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite.

A could hours out from RNY and already up and walking and got 8 ouches of Fluid in so far and a little Jello feel great just tired. So tired

Yep, you will be groggy til the anesthesia wears off. Getting up and walking soon will help a lot.

Actually in very little pain. Haven't had any meds, but maybe to sleep. Slated go home tomorrow after lunch fingers crossed!

Woo hoo! I’m up walking and no pain. We’re both doing great. No sipping for me yet. I have to wait until tomorrow after the leak test.

They don't do those here unless there's a reason I guess?

I asked my surgeon and she said that they leak checked me right before closing me up.

Doing great!! I had visitors today that helped me walk the halls. She was afraid she would hurt me- I said baby, on the good drugs!!

What hurts isn’t even the bypass!! I am scar tissue from my c/secttuo

Same here. My surgeon pumped some air into my sleeve to check for leaks before closing me up. I don't know what I would have done if I couldn't sip water right after surgery as my mouth was soooo dry.

Keep sippin' n walkin' everyone.

So happy all the 27th gals are doing good!

I’ve been walking all over the floor I’m on and husband and I sat on a balcony and watched the sun set. Still no pain, but they put some pain meds in my IV, so that may be why

Are there 2 types of leak tests? They did one after surgery, but I can't have anything to drink until after the test in the morning. I didn’t understand the 2 leak test explanation. The doctor speaks very good English, but fast and my mind was a little foggy.
