Hey everyone!
I just had my surgery on 11/15 and I’m having so much trouble getting my medications down. I crush them and try to mix them into things but it is so bitter that I have difficulty swallowing it. Any suggestions?

If its bitter try reducing it in your Protein Shake, In cooking the opposite of bitter is adding salt, Salt will reduce the bitterness, I would grind them in a spice grinder add a little salt and drop in 1 oz of Protein shake

how long do you have to crush it for? I could take everything whole except for ursodiol and those big Calcium pills as soon as I got home from the hospital

Do you crush your meds together or do you take them one at a time?

Be sure to take each crushed pill separately and rinse each down with a chaser of your choice. I use grape-flavored Powerade Zero Sugar sports drink. I haven't had any problems with bitterness while drinking it.

Yeah, I'm 7 days post-op and am struggling with this. I just bought some watery fruity baby food and am mixing the crushed pills with this. The worst is my omeprazole, which is little granules. I have a few weeks of this ahead of me, so I'm just trying to be as creative as possible so I don't gag.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
