Is this too much food?

Recommended Posts

HI folks, last night for dinner I had planned to eat 1/4 of an avocado and 2 oz of turkey meat with a little mayo. I guess I wasn't paying attention I ate 1/2 the avocado. It seemed to go down easy. I didn't have any problems at all. Is that too much food? should I be able to eat all of that this soon? . I'm a little over 3 weeks out?

Slider foods go down very easy. They basically "slide" through your pouch and don't trigger restriction. This is why we're told to focus first on the dense Protein.

I agree about sliders! They just go down sooooo easy. But proteins... No so fast.

Avocado is relatively high calorie because its mostly fat -a healthy type of fat yes but a caloric deficit is still necessary immediately after surgery

Good Luck 💚

Yep. I included avocado from the beginning. And later grape tomatoes. They are my "treat" after Protein and veg is done.

But even now, I limit them to 1oz each by weight on a scale. They are total slider foods and measure about 1/4c by volume.

At first I only did 1/2oz avocado. You def need to make it fit within your calorie window. I used it as my fat for the meal.

This is going to sound incredibly mean and I have toned this down since I originally wrote it. Are we really writing about an extra 1/4 of an avacado is too much? I mean seriously? At 3 weeks just make it 3oz of deli meat and you wont even want the avocado. Pay attention to what your body is telling you as your first guide.

At first glance it does look like that right but...

Current serving size is around 50 grams for 80 cals. Unless its weighed no clue to know how much was consumed.

I love healthy foods so you won't hear an argument from me on eating an extra piece of fruit or vegetable.

I think the only issue that comes onto play is if its done without realization of the impact it may have calorically. Not everyone does truly know.

If people are ok with that then it's fine (but I think a lot of associated fruit with healthy so calorie free or we coukd eat as much as we want without penalties idk why)

If someone says they may have at more than a serving size without realization some of us try to help them out with info on why this may have happened and what to do instead

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
