Hi
I had my surgery 10 weeks ago but for the last week have been suffering with the worst nausea that I have ever experienced to a point that I can’t function at work and the thought of eating or drinking is the last thing I want to do. Has anyone had the same issues and how did you get through it and what did the hospital say caused it? I just can’t stand it any longer and wonder if it’s anything sinister. I have been to the hospital and they told me it’s normal to have some nausea and to take lansaprazole and an anti sickness drug, I’m at the end of my tether with it, can anyone suggest anything to help?

I'm sorry I can't be of help, but I have this nausea a lot along with a burning in my stomach. For the longest time I didn't know how to explain it. I'm scheduled for an endoscopy soon and hopefully will get answers. Maybe you should insist on one yourself? I think it would help give you and your Dr. answers. I wish you all the best!

A call to your surgeon's office can help. Let them know what is going on and ask if there is something they can recommend. If you don't ask, your surgeon will not know if you are having issues.

I have never heard of the ginger treatment. I don't see why it wouldn't help. But if it doesn't follow up with your surgeon.

I'd call my surgeon. You might be developing a stricture - although those cause nausea mostly after you eat or drink something. So I don't know - but I'd call just to be on the safe side.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
