Welcome home Shae

Hopefully the gas will pass with movement I would start walking around your house just to get everything moving. Pain should subside in a few days

I had to sleep propped up with pillows after a couple of months I could sleep on my tummy with no problem but I have heard those body pillow are wonderful.

Just take it easy and welcome to the other side.

Congratulations! Mary's right -- walking will help the gas go away (I won't say pass). The first couple of days are the roughest. I didn't have any trouble with burping; it just felt normal. Pamper yourself this week! Try a heating pad on your belly, and give yourself one huge pat on the back for taking this giant step.

Welcome to bandland! Burps don't hurt! Glad to hear you are doing good. When you get past this week, you'll be fine. Remember to take lots of sips, and do some walking!

Congratulations on getting banded.

Leatha is it normal for my port to be kind of painful, I had my surgery 11-5-04 and two months into this now all of a sudden my port hurts, I am having trouble getting comfortable at night and can't lay on my stomache at all. Maybe its that I have been eating like a pig, I have been so bad and I have only worked out once this week, I don't know why I can't get back in the correct mindset. What's wrong with me.. I was doing so good, why am I slipping back to my old habits.. Well just wanted to let someone know how bad I've been so that you can give me a good talking and I can be good again. Tks.

This is the beginning of a great new life. There are some good before and afters pic's on here today. They are so encouraging. After you make it through the first 6 weeks. Finding your good fill point is very imporant. A good fill makes all the difference.

Hi!

I was banded on Monday. I too had bad gas pains but was able to burp from the beginning. It does go away and when I drink something now I always burp after.

My pain is moderate at this point and I was out and about today for a couple of hours. Still trying to figure the drinking out - afraid to drink too much because I don't want to vomit and afraid I am not drinking enough.

I have been nauseous a little bit here and there.

Lauren

Shae! Wow, I've been watching and waiting, and here you are on the other side. Trust me, I felt lousy, and if I can get better, anyone can! I didn't have any Band related pain though (except in my back and shoulders.) Sip warm tea with honey, Water all day, walk as often as possible. None of these things helped me, but they work for most people. Just relax and let that heating pad sink in. Or have someone put one of those huge heat pads on your lower back.

Congratulations, Shae! I know you're going to be a very successful bandster just by the way that you've prepared for this. Every day will get better. If you're unable to drink a lot right now, just take little sips here and there as often as you can. They'll add up and keep you from getting dehydrated.

Estela, try to eat like a Bandster, Protein first, then veggies, and if room left over, carbs. Keep drinking that Water (except w/meals and 1 hour afterwards.) Your aches and pains will get better.

Lauren, sip, sip, sip continuously. It doesn't matter if you chug or sip, it all adds up if you do it often enough. You're not worrying about calories right now, just getting enough fluids in. Hope you're soon feeling better.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
