I am 3 days post op and still every time I drink anything my stomach cramps bad. It goes away pretty quick but I am just wondering is this normal and does it go away. I have been fortunate though that I not yet experienced Nausea

Hello Halfsnack, yes it's normal. I experienced it for the first week, worse with sugar free Jello that was given in the hospital. It went away after about a week. Hang in there.🧡

^^ YES. sugar free Jello felt horrible!!!! Everything else too to be honest. Just make sure you're taking very small sips and leave some time in between them. That's what I had to do for everything. Even now if I drink a big gulp of Water my stomach hurts.

Good luck! ❤️

I am 4 days post and SF JELLO...gave me cramps so bad. Also, SF popsicles are causing serious gas pains.

4 days post sleeve. As long as I stick to 10ml or less per sip I’m fine. Anything more than that is uncomfortable.

I'm about 10 days out from surgery and when I saw my surgeon for my 1 week I asked her about that, she said it was normal and that it would go away and it did just a few days later. I found sometimes taking a deep breath when the pain started helped significantly. Hang in there, it'll pass.

Try drinking warm Water rather than cold or cool. That minimizes discomfort for some people.

Yep. Norms. And varying the temp is so important! I still have better results sipping room temp Water and warm liquids than I do cold. I can tolerate cold now, but it does make me feel "jammed up."

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
