How many mgs or Zofran were you prescribed to take at once? I noticed that my prescription is 4 mg, which according to the internets is the dose for a kid. I took some this morning and it hasn’t done much of anything for me.

Depends on what you need AnnieD, 4mg typically works for me and some people need 8mg. So if 4 mg not cutting it, I'll do 8 mg and speak with your doctor.
I hope your nausea improves![emoji169][emoji169][emoji169]

I was prescribed 8 mg. and unfortunately it hasn't helped at all when I've suffered nausea bouts. The bouts are unpredictable and can occur after I've drank a Protein Shake or eaten something that, until then, never had bothered my stomach before.

I see my surgeon for a checkup in two weeks and will mention this again. For now, I just have to ride out the nausea which sometimes lasts 14 hours or so.

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear this. That sounds awful! Do you have a scopolamine patch as well? Between that and the zofran my nausea seems very well controlled. I’ve only experienced very short, very light amounts of nausea since my surgery (which was last Wednesday).

I had the patch right after surgery, but now I'm three months out so don't have one anymore. I will ask my surgeon about that. Thanks.

Mine was for 8mg and I found I didn’t need them much. I found when I had mild nausea I drank fluids with electrolytes and rested for a bit and I was fine.

sorry you are having to deal with this at all. Prayers that you feel better.

Sorry to hear it's not really helping. Maybe my nausea isn't that bad in comparison to others because I have a Zofran prescription for only 4mg and it has been a life saver whenever I've needed it. And I only take one. Definitely get help from your Dr. because as you know nausea is miserable to deal with. Best wishes on getting it under control.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
