Ms.sss, this procedure was a vertical thigh Lift. It has kicked my sitting side. Had my arms done in 2018 and it was not tough and they are great. Had LBL and BL in December 2016. Plastics are tough. I am still in the suffering stage though - glad I did first 2 and may eventually get there with this procedure. PM me any questions as not to clutter this feed.
I too can not commit to a book. I Read a bunch of John Gottnan work earlier searching for a patient. It reminded me how very much a person wants connection and not to ignore others.

I'm so far behind on this thread!

I'm in for August

Goal is same as last month, stay below 130 & walk at least a mile a majority of days.

Sleeve, 18 months post op, in maintenance

129.8 lbs, 23 BMI

Fun fact - I have visited 32 states & 20 countries (I don't count if I just land or transit through a state or country)

Day 1 - Wake up early - Yeah, no way, I get up plenty early as it is.

Day 2 - Read a book - I'm not sure my schedule this month will leave much time for reading

(I'm not off to a great start, am I? 🤣)

1. Okay so this sounds weird, but I’m setting a personal goal for August to avoid alcohol entirely.
Wine had been creeping back unto my diet and then there was a tequila tasting and....well no wonder I had a bit of a stall lately.
I want to average losing 2 pounds/week this month and that’s the ONLY way to achieve it.

That is a great goal! I'm pretty open that I'm not a super great rule follower. But I drank almost no alcohol during my weight loss phase. That was a huge deal because my work life includes A LOT of drinking. So it's great that you recognize that it will hold you back from your ultimate goal!

4. As a child i won a lot of awards & my artwork even was displayed in a Japanese museum, these days I barely produce work - I peaked early 😂😂😂

I still haven't peaked! I think I either missed my window, or my calling! 🤣

Update: 238.8 lbs (weigh-n at PCP)

Most exciting part of the visit: My doctor smiled at me (usually there was like a frown and a wrinkle about my labs/BP readings) and said: Oh my! Your face looks sooooo different! Yayyyyyy!

I said I would update - don't have my BMI. Might go by the gym later and do the little handheld thing they have...

Day 3 goal: Go out in an environment where there is eating and drinking and have total fun....It's what the people I know do! Walk in the morning (b/c I live in Florida and it's hot!)

Day 4 goal: Go walk! As you can tell, Day 11 after surgery and I can't seem to walk as I should!

Congrats, sounds like you're doing great!

You can calculate your BMI here

It looks like you're about a 41 BMI :)

Okay so does picking up a book about IF count as an inspiring read?
If so, then yes!

About ready to head to the Pilates studio again (that makes 5 classes so far this week).
Gonna get that strength training in

Day 2:

Book: Reading "To kill a mockingbird" with my soon to be 8th grader as the book is her reading list for the 8th grade and we are reading ahead. I'm having a profound appreciation for the book again having read it years ago. My daughter is loving it as well. Atticus Finch is an influential figure in my life. I hope it resonates with her the way he did me.

Strength training: Does yin yoga count?? It was a LONG week for me (I'm thinking probably more emotional than physical because of preop things) so I needed that class to round off the week.

Packing for the last family vacation before end of summer and school commencement. It's a cruise......heaven help me!! For the first time in my life, I'm packing work out clothes for vacation and I asked my perfectly svelte sis in law to pack hers to keep me accountable.

I'm dedicated to completing this challenge [emoji169][emoji169][emoji169]

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
