smoothie was definitely sweet. I put in a teaspoon of Stevia, which i realized after made it a little too sweet. Will cut the amount next time. I've never heard of a savory avocado smoothie...what would you put in it?

...and on the other note, a sugar-free Popsicle surely is OK, no matter what time..?

hahaha! I sure hope a sf popsicle is ok anytime. I'm really just trying to address the habit of feeling like I'm entitled to feed cravings at bedtime. :) Just trying to train the dragon (hypothalmus=aka lizard brain)

Can't imagine a sweet avo smoothie! :)

What I do for "green" avocado smoothies:

1/4 avocado (about 2 oz)

1-2 oz baby spinach (fresh)

1-2 oz cucumber

fresh lemon juice/zest (lots)

1/2oz celery (optional)

garlic

s/p

cilantro

scoop of super greens powder (adds a little tart sweetness)

ahhhhhh...a GREEN smoothie. Totally forgot about those, I had dessert on the brain.

I have all these ingredients. Once my avocado ripens a little more am going to make this!

Ohhhh! See I can't think of avocado as a sweet treat. I can think of it as a thickener and healthy fat underlying a chocolate berry smoothie though. :) It replaces banana!

I will try your avo sweet smoothie though. Maybe this weekend. :)

But the green smoothie is ball busters awesome!!! It's almost like a green gazpacho maybe? So so good. You can even add a spoon of greek yogurt if you want. I just use Water. But you can do any kind of milk or liquid that you want. Sometimes I use hibiscus tea as the base of it.

5'2", ♀️10m PO, maintaining 120.6 lbs this morning

So yeah, apparently I gained 3+ lbs overnight. A few months ago this would have had me planning a real low calorie day (or days) to bring the number down immediately. I now know this is likely just a fluctuation and I have no need to be too concerned unless it keeps going up over several days. I've come a long way, baby.

With that said, my food intake at a bar last night are not for the faint of heart.

Menu for Yesterday, Monday Sep 16:

  • 9:00am (0 cals)
    • peppermint tea + ½ stevia packet

Hey have either of you tried the Bolthouse Farms salad dressings? The ones that are 40cals for 2 Tbsp?

Was wondering if you had, and if you had an opinion of the best one. I got the Verde Avocado. Dunno if they were going for Green Goddess or Creamy Jalapeno Ranch? It's kinda blah and a little on the sweet side.

Opinions?

I've tried the Bolthouse farms dressing before! It was recommended by my nutritionist. I like the Creamy Caesar :)

Cant say I have...I prefer making my own vinaigrette (am not a big fan of creamy dressings with the exception of blue cheese)

1 tbsp serving = 7 calories (sometimes I add more olive oil after the fact to increase fats)

Makes 51 servings:

I've tried the Jalpapeno Ranch. It was fine, not bad, but not super memorable either.

I do like the Opadipity Chipotle Ranch Dip. It is 60 cals per 2 tbps, but is super thick, so you could thin it down with some buttermilk maybe?

Ooo that dressing recipe sounds delicious, Ill be trying that soon. I have all the ingredients at home already.

As far as a vinaigrette goes, my quick go to is some red cooking wine with a little bit of olive oil, a tiny splash of white vinegar, salt, pepper, and cumin. Stir it all up and all done.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
