I have a question

Recommended Posts

After having a double surgery due to them not doing a leak test. I never went back for follow ups. How do I get back on track as far as my food/caloric intake. Does anyone have any suggestions how I get back on track and help with my food. Thanks

Follow the bariataric plate diet. 1/2 of your plate should be Protein. 1/4 veggies. 1/4 grains. Eat protein first. If full, stop. Don't eat more than 1/2 cup at a time. Aim for 600-800 calories. Avoid sugars and starches. Drink your 64 oz of Water each day.

First I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with your surgery. Can you provide a little more detailed on the back end of your story.

How long has it been since you've had your surgery. What type of surgery, how much have you gain back etc.

Most people who have gained weight do a pouch reset, by going back to the basic post op diet.

Honestly? My suggestion would be to get yourself back to your surgeon and follow up visits. If not that surgeon, then find a new team.

Recent research shows that those patients with the best follow up care/compliance have the best long term success with the least regain and complications.

This is too complex of a journey to "wing it" on your own.

Your leak most likely had very little to do with your surgeon and had more to do with your body and health. For whatever reason, you did not seal in an area. Most of us are so metabolically sick going into surgery that we are at greater risk of complication than a so called "healthy normal weight" patient.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
