About time I do an update on here! Tomorrow I’ll be three weeks post op and so far I’ll say some things are exactly how I thought they’d be and others not at all.

Food wise I’m not hungry but I don’t feel full after eating either. Like there’s zero sensation either way, and I don’t mind it but it means I’m still 100% dependent on the exact measurements of portions from my dietician to not eat too much or too little. I’m very careful about what I eat and I’m hesitant to try new things so I’m basically living off Protein Shakes and yoghurt. I’m sure it will get better, just need to be more comfortable with my new stomach first( I can’t wait to eat meat again omggg!)

Physically I’m feeling good but I’m bummed I still can’t sleep on my stomach! It’s the only physical limitation I have now, except being tired more easily of course! So far I’m down 49lbs in total, 23lbs pre op and 26lbs post op.

Hey Sweetie, sounds like you are off to a Good Start. Hey I have had a treacherous time, I still have to measure and be uber-careful with mine and I will be a year in September, you probably won't emulate me, but I will warn you, it hasn't been "easy peasy" for me. And you can't be too careful with your life, after all.
My dietician says I am doing wonderfully well, may look that way but I'm not So Sure. I like the weight loss but my gut instinct? I'm sacrificing my health and well- being to achieve it. Haven't had my low levels of minerals etc checked for 3 months, OH I did have blood drawn for something else only to be told " Oh we don't check for THAT! " Were they just worried I had something I could give other patients? Hospitals are hotbeds of germs anyway, why would this one be different?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
