Don't stress, its probably mostly Water retention. I can gain 3 lbs overnight for no reason, then it goes away a few days later and I've changed literally nothing!

Same here!

Well I will have my Good Cry for Day#11. Tomorrow another Endoscopy, maybe THIS ONE will show healing? Drawing or Painting? I paint with Words, I am a Poet after All. If I come up with something appropriate I'll be back. And even if I don't get something formulated tomorrow I will exhibit my Day#12 😃 Smile for tomorrow will be a Beautiful Fresh Day for Me!

Check in 6/11/2019 - I am back on the high end of my maintaining bounce range. I'm here to get my weight back down - VSG June 2014 /2017, High weight 254, - Goal for this month is to lose 4 pounds this challenge.

  • 6/10 weight is 139
  • 6/11 todays weight 137

Day 11 – drawing or painting a good cry. This is my last week with my grandkids. My son’s divorce is finalized. I don’t even know where to begin. How do you explain to a four and one year old that they won’t be seeing dad and grandma often. Grieving for what they are going through. Cried while running six miles.

@thatch Glad you caught your 3 lb gain quickly, are you going to change things up?

Yep, back on the wagon as of yesterday, getting in my 5 mile walks, drinking Water and NOT the sweet tea I drank all weekend. I had a party on Friday night and I ate party leftovers all weekend. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Whoops - missed posting yesterday. There was no crying. I cry when I feel like it and not otherwise. Also, burpees were a no go. Some of the exercises are beyond me so I'm giving myself a pass...and that includes today as well. (Although you never know, I might try later on.) I'm happy to smile as much as I can today and my mother's on her way for a visit so, hopefully, the smiling comes easily and naturally. I'm with GT - I always wanted my wrinkles to be due to smiles. Right now, my favorite clothes are the ones that I have shrunk into although I'm sad at letting some of the other pieces go. Today, I think it's the black pants that I'm wearing. They fit well and are comfortable and show off my trim legs. :)

Flutter kicks done, I prefer and need ab exercises. I had a good cardio workout today too. I smiled and said hi to everyone within reason so far going and in and out of the fitness center. I’m going shopping this afternoon so I will continue my smile mission. 😁

B side: Favorite piece of clothing. A casual dress from Boden US. It fits great, it’s comfortable and it’s easy to dress up or down. Currently I am on a white pants hunt and I’m not having any luck so far. I swear I have shopped everywhere. It’s so frustrating, and sizes are all over the place.

Way behind here!

I'm going to try to catch up on all the exercises, from the 8th through today. I hope there aren't people in the room below me!

I am doing well on my walking a mile a day, a majority of days goal, I'm 9 for 11!

Day 8 - Small things that make me excited

Keeping two house plants alive for over 3 months now (a miracle!). Butterflies in my yard. Climbing into a bed with fresh, clean linens.

Day 9 - Things that cause me pain

GOT, ever expanding "to do" lists, my deflate chest :(

Day 10 - What do you want to be remembered for

My sense of humor and empathy

Day 11 - Good cry/drawing/painting

Nope

Day 12 - Smile as much as you can

Working out of town, don't want to look like a grinning idiot all day, we'll see

B side - What is your current absolute favorite article of clothing?

I can't pick just one! I have become a complete nightmare about my clothing! I take so long to pick an outfit to wear, packing for a trip has become an ordeal. It's all cause I'm insanely full of myself currently, and I think I look cute in everything 🤣

One thing I did not predict, is how much I'd love patterned pants

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
