Week 5 . Am I getting in my nutrients

Recommended Posts

Hello dears, Got sleeved 7th of March. I cant still get even the soft solids down. The boiled egg whites , scrambled, poached still get stuck and i have to finally throw up. Quaker oats are not also easy to keep down. Basically my friend now is greek yoghurt , Protein Shake and sometimes grits with skimmed milk. Cant enjoy chicken even when properly chewed. what can I do? Please am not happy that am not getting in enough nutrients

Yeah, cottage cheese was also a go-to for me. Are you able to take your Vitamins? As long as you're taking your vitamins and drinking your Protein Shakes, you'll be okay for a while, until you're able to eat more.

I'm just starting full liquids today so I don't have a lot of experience to give but I plan on using Protein Shakes, cottage cheese, yogurt and possibly trying out Protein pudding. I was able to get in about 6 tablespoons of Protein Shake this morning before I felt really uncomfortable. I think it's gas/period pain but I didn't want to push it. I've had a few sips of Water over the last 45 min and the pain seems to be subsiding. My advise would be to stick to easy Proteins and try things like chicken in a week or two and see how it goes. It's almost like feeding a baby food for the first time. Doesn't always go well, try again after some time has passed. Good luck!

The three most important elements immediately after bariatric surgery are to meet your daily Protein, Fluid and Vitamin requirements. food is secondary because your body is converting your stored fat into the energy that drives your body. Thus you lose weight.

The transition to the solid food stage can be rough. There is no need to accelerate this transition. Just take your time and you will get there.

Cottage cheese, refried Beans, yogurt and fairlife mils is what I lived off. Fairlife Coles in chocolate too.

I can ear meat, but it hurts really quickly. I'm almost 7 weeks out, so I try to stick to softer foods.

Good luck! It will get better!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
