Do you think maybe its that the band is too tight? My doctor isn't in the office today so they can't see me untill Monday, her assistant did tell me that she would prescribe valium? She said it will help with stomach spasms

Do you know of anything that can help me at night? I just can't handle the thought of going through the same symptoms as yesterday

I don't have a lap-band, but I did have reflux issues. You can try sleeping on a wedge on in a recliner for a while. Also, don't eat or drink within about 3 hours of lying down.

It's reflux as a result of either one or all of the following:

1) your band is too tight and/or you ate too much too soon after your fill. I go on mush or liquid only for 24 hours post fill.

2) you've developed a pouch.

3) you've developed oesophageal dilation.

The liquid that's coming back up is your stomach acid - this is irritating and leads to coughing bouts, spluttering and choking. sleep propped up on a pillow on your left side (sleeping on your left reduces reflux).

Medication: Nexium, Somac or zantac may help. The latter two can be obtained in pharmacy without a prescription.

Your surgeons office may request a barium swallow.

Hi, I had the same thing happen. I am banded for 10 years now. I am betting your either swollen around band or it is too tight ...how much of a fill did you get?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
